Barrows... decent way to make gold?

I haven't played RS2 seriously in a few years (close to probably 2-3 years) and I've recently started playing again; I'm wondering is barrows still decent money? I used to have an account that I did barrows on and it wasn't that great for money but I was lucky enough to get a guthan spear when they were worth close to 9M. Since then I have lost that account and now am playing on another account I had, I had set it up to do barrows the fastest way I could (telly home, recharge pray, telly to canafis using the teleporter and repeat) and I'm just now seriously trying to level the main stats. I was probably going to go towards slayer dart for killing the brothers only because it was what I previosly used and it was very effective; so I'm wondering is barrows really worth the time/effort/money?

 

The entire guthans set is like ~1M now, lol.

 

Barrows is not really a reliable way to make money. For some people who have good luck, it works pretty good, but for the majority of your trips you will not recieve a barrows item. The items themselves really aren't that valuable anymore either, so even if you get lucky a few times you will only make a couple million GP at most.

 

Yes, Barrows used to be a reliable, and fun, way of making some cash... no longer - Prices have dropped a lot (as a result of botting/over-use).

Better moneymaking is available (even 200k + an hour can sometimes beat barrows, especially at lower levels) with combat.

 

it's pretty sucky money tbh, it's definitely less useful than it used to be

 

I'd suggest anything over barrows - hell, even picking white berries is faster than that.
Barrows does have an advantage in that it also trains combat at the same time, but in all honesty, green dragons/blue dragons are better at combat xp and at money than barrows.

 

ashame... I used to love doing barrows lol, and honestly i'll still do it just because it's fun but thanks.

 

If you complete the Ritual of the Mahjarrat, then you can kill another barrows brother, Akrisae. But yeah, as already been said, barrows is no longer reliable.

Lol how are you going to say that the drop in price is the result of bots? Its Jagex, they made it to where items dont disappear as fast so theres no way to take the items out of the market, thus creating a flood in items. It would of happened with or without bots.



But yeah, I just bught guthans set its like 1.5m. Id say do Revs or GWD bosses untill ur maxed combat. when ur maxed, solo corp. beast, has drops ranging from 5k to 300M+

 

There was a bot that could do barrows.

 

I'm about to buy like 200m to buy some bitchin gear and go barrows. If only I didn't have better things to do.

 

There was and still is but bots were only 15% the problem. The way Jagex is, the rs economy would be just the same without bots.
