Zaryte doesn't suck

Zaryte is good for fight kiln and caves because it has a very far target range. Only reason it's any good.

 

Sorry mate, gonna have to disagree with out here. I think you'll find around 1 in 6 bolts get 'stuck in the monster' and neither return to the ammo pouch nor drop to the ground. I was doing the fight caves with adamant bolts and picking up the ones that dropped on the ground as well as using an accumulator, and I lost at least 300-400 bolts.

Regardless it's outclassed by chaotic in every way ( and shield )
and Rune c'bow is far superior for pking ( and shield )

Only thing i can see it useful for is training, and even then other methods will prove to be more effective ( knives & darts & shield/void )

 

No one here is taking into consideration the time it takes to get the chaotic cross bow, let alone if you wanted to spend your tokens on that. personally i would buy a rapier on my pure and not a cross bow, and insted use the rune cross bow or zaryte.

 

I believe its decent for slayer.

I think the main flaw with the argument that is the premise for this thread, is that you are comparing a weapon with 60 range req to one with 80, and acting like they are the real competition for each other.

 

Your numbers are hilarious. In an hour the maximum number of shots you can take is 1k (3.6 seconds per attack, 3600 seconds in an hour). Losing 30-40% of your bolts over the course of an hour is nearly impossible. Even losing half of that amount is very unlikely, AND somehow you managed to be attacking for an hour straight?

Also, using Rune Bolts is a retarded idea. Use something cheaper like Broad Bolts, which costs 1/5 of that, is almost just as effective.

Bottom line is simple. There is no reason to use a Z Bow besides Fight Kiln. Either you are doing something like Pking/PvM where the shield matters, or you are better off using something fast.

It would only be useful for bossing or something like that, no one trains using a bow in reality, chinchompas all the way.

Zaryte sucks for pking because you would keep that over anything else. You cannot use claws or AGS, unless you want to lose them. Not to mention Zaryte costs a fortune just to buy, and that's a large portion of the average user's bank. It's not even an investment unless you plan on using it for long periods of time per day. Not to mention when it comes to pking, you won't have a shield. And the shield plays a huge role for tanks. And tanks are really the only users that range, taking off their shield for a zaryte bow would bring their def below that of rune. If people wanted accuracy whilst pking, why don't they just use black dhide, zammy book and cbow? Because that's not the case, tanks sacrifice accuracy for def. Hence "Tank". So accuracy isn't the discussion here.

If you want to pk with a high accuracy bow, use a CCB. Higher accuracy, and you can still have a shield. If you're going to train slayer, you may as well melee it, unless you're a tank. Tanks don't slayer much though. Z bow's damage per second is incomparable to chaotics and even a whip. The time spent on tasks or monsters would take significantly longer than when using a chaotic, and with that period of time, you can make more back if using chaotics. Let's say in 10 hours, you save about 2 hours of slayer when meleeing, you can make 4M back within that period of time. That easily covers the cost of the chaotics. If you want range exp, then chin it.

I'd like to see you do Arma with a zaryte bow, and get your ass kicked. Cbows can use rubies and diamond bolts, they make bosses a lot more vulnerable. Can the Zbow do that? No, you'd basically be using rune bolts the whole time, taking longer to kill bosses, and take in more damage as you do not have a shield.

So make a valid argument rather than pointing out why a weapon that costs so much is better than one that costs nothing, when your points are only based on accuracy and cost effective. But when we talk about cost effective, I've mentioned that melee is way faster for getting the job done.

People uses the Cbow for pking because of the bolt's effect. D bolts can hit 600 damage, can the Z bow do that? Oh wait... you want to welfare in Z bow, be cheap and more vulnerable to your opponent's attacks without the use of a shield. Not to mention the Z bow sucks for koing, you cannot depend on venge + Zbow combo.
