70 Def Vs 75+

Hey guys, I made a zerker pure, but I failed it by leveling defence.
So I decided to be a Barrows pure.
I've got lunars, ancients, curses, and barrows gloves, turmoil.
I just need to know what defence to stick at.
70, 75, or what?

It's 51 atm.

 

70 will allow you to use dharoks for a finish. However 75 will allow you to use ahrims for magic.

 

Ahrims = Barrows = 70 def
On the other hand, 75 will allow you to wear a DFS.

 

So what do you guys suggest?
70 Defence, or 75?

 

I'd stick with 70 Defence because not only will it keep your CB level down by one or two levels, but dragon defender beats DFS in almost every way when your pking. (besides defence bonuses and spec)

 

quite frankly, id just stay at your defense now and stay a zerker, who cares about a few combat levels. it will only provide an advantage against other zerkers because they will be lower defense then you

 

Get 70 defense, dfs is not a big deal and dragon defender beats it in all attack/strength bonuses.

 

70 Defence is better, so go for that. 75 is a waste IMO.

 

That's what I thought to do, but like 95% of people were advising me to get 70 Defence.
Really not sure what to do.
Anyone else have any advice?

 

I don't see much of an advantage. 6 higher def, is 2 combats higher. Zerkers his combat level would have higher strength and attack, and that easily beats out defense. I'm not sure why you even say that because his def is lower, you have the advantage. If I was 99-99-90, I'd fight a 99-99-99 and have pretty similar odds of actually hitting.

Stick with 70 for Barrows. Don't get 75, it's a waste of about 2 levels, just for a shield that provides slightly better defense. Compare the DFS with an obby shield, you don't need that extra armor def. You'll already have ownage def with barrows, and when it comes to PVMing, Dragon Def has better offensives which is great.

 

MMk, I've decided on 70 def guys.
Should I quest that def, or level it myself?

 

A couple CB lvls is 100% not going to make a difference, so either 70 or 75 or is fine.

If you plan to do slayer,boss fights, just get 75. If you're strictly looking to just pvp then 70.

 

Or you can go 78 def and become a stat\vesta pker instead of just 75.
