    Who Killed Hip Hop

    16 minutes? TL;DL :p

But I'd say we, as hiphop listeners (so basicly we as customers) killed hiphop.
Why? Because we (well, sure not me but you get what I'm saying) are buying shitty music from artists like Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, Drake etc.

I mean, why keep recording shit if it doesn't sell? :/

    Who Killed Hip Hop

I dont think anyone killed Hip hop. Hip hop is a type of music and anyone can make it if they want to. Just because someone makes a song thats bad in your eyes doesnt mean they killed hip hop. If anything theyve contributed to hip hop by making a hip hop song and further promoting hip hop.

Thats like saying I killed R&B because I sang a R&B song badly.
All in all music is music and people will do what they want. So if a song doesnt interest you dont listen to it, even if the person is rapping about something you despise and hate the most its still hip hop no matter how bad you or anyone else thinks it is.

No disrespect, but all that crap about music being subjective gets really old when use it in that sense. Yes everyone has an opinion, but the way I see it, all music needs integrity. Without integrity music becomes a joke, or a passing fad.

Real music has originality and artistic competence. It conveys emotion, makes the listener feel or think. That's what music should be.

Not the same rehashed garbage over and over again...

This is your opinion :p. I have my own playlist of people i like and a list of people i wouldnt listen to. But just because you dislike it doesnt mean its garbage. What you portray as real music may be what someone else says is garbage. The way you see it isnt the way everyone sees it.

Mainstream killed it. When it started really coming onto MTV and shit, record companies knew that all these dark, real, gritty hip hop songs wouldn't appeal to the young kids and the masses, so they started getting more water down, auto tuned shit to put on the radio. Although it's not all bad, the majority is.

You obviously know nothing about Hip-Hop if that's what you really think. Early 2000 had a lot of great stuff and there are still plenty of rappers out there still making good music. Don't base your whole opinion about a genre just from what you hear on the radio. Hip-Hop will never die if you can put in the effort to find it. If you can't, then you have no right to say Hip-Hop is dead.

I think Drake/Lil Wayne are the best of the worst. Compared to Flocka, Gucci, etc, just disgusting music.

There's a lot of good artists who get 0 plays on the radio. J Cole is up coming and he's talented.

Hip hop isn't dead. Sorry bruh, but Joe Budden is fucking terrible

Not gonna lie, hip hop has had a few rough years.
MTV wasn't so bad when it actually played music videos. There used to be good underground hip hop stations. There are some regional radiostations, but most just play garbage.

J Cole sucks. Drake/Aubrey/Wheelchair Jimmy sucks. So does "weezy". Stop listening to these R&B type pussies.

You guys should really quit bitching. I get it, contemporary mainstream rap sucks. However, that isn't an excuse to listen to kids like Drake aka the pre cum baby aka the tiao cruz of hip hop.Get some self respect, bump wu tang/anything vaguely afrocentric. Last I checked music made 15 years ago is still good.
