Think about it in this perspective, the largest consumer group, in USA at least, is the baby boomer's generation (i.e the parents). Support is growing with younger generations, but it's not yet their time.

 

The biggest argued reason why the Government hasn't legalized marijuana is, by doing so every convict that has been placed with possession charges would cry out for a lawsuit. Each and every single one of them would want restitution for their marijuana, tainted records, and time spent behind bars. Tens of thousands would be exonerated, which would most likely lead to riots. In my opinion, finding an effective solution to taxing marijuana is more of an excuse than a argument.

 

It will probably never be legal.

 

Would there be any way for the government to tax cannibis? It's so easy to grow and you can grow it anywhere i think that they might be able to do it, but it would be very hard. Kinda like moonshine, you can get a license and make it legally or you can choose to make it illegally...wonder if itll ever become like that for marijuana.

 

I don't see how it's different from alcohol in that sense though. It's not hard to homebrew pretty much any type of alcohol you want, same way with marijuana. It's just the majority of people are too lazy to brew their own so they buy it from manufacturers. I think it would be the same way with marijuana, you'd have a select group of people who grow their own, but the majority would just buy pre-packaged stuff.

 

yeah i deffo agree with you i mean, i would much rather pay to have my shit taxed, BUT be able to sell/grow it 100% legally, than just sell it on the streets and risk jail time ya know?

 

In my opinion, I don't think it will ever be legalized Country wise through out the U.S but rather be legalized in more states just like California is. Face the facts, Marijuana is a drug just like the rest and legalizing it everywhere would be too dangerous.

but how is it dangerous? Explain to me how its just as dangerous as acid, or meth, or coke. It's not. It's a flower, that you can smoke that helps MANY things...Yeah it might cause LONG TERM effects....but smoking it day after day, is nothing compared to doing somethin like crack every day. Legalizing it would do great for this country.

How can you even say things like that though? Those idiots that are burnt out when they are 40, they didn't just smoke weed when they were younger, they took acid, pills, etc...and fucked themselves over...It had nothing to do with the weed (or very little at least)

There are lots of people that smoke a lot of weed and are over 40 but still love life (woody harrelson, willie nelson for example) I personally know people that are over 40 and still smoke weed and have their whole lives basically...they have jobs and are pretty successful...

Honestly though, it would surprise you just how many people actually smoke weed...

The person I get weed off of right now (when other people are out) is an old lady (about 65) and she is as normal as any other lady her age....

 

Support for legalization seems to be at an all time high right now and it's becoming apparent through the very close polling for legalization that's been done, if I recall correctly I remember that legalization vote a while ago in California only losing by a few percent, I remember hearing a similar poll will happen again this year, I see influential politicians voicing opinions against prohibition and it gives me hope that it'll be legalized at least in various places in North America in the next 5 years or so.

 

I totally agree with you. When i started smoking ide smoke a few times every day for about 6 months streight. Then i decided to quit and quit on the spot never had any problems. I never got addicted to it and i NEVER even thought about trying some other kind of drug at all because all the others fuck you up and are BAD! Marijuana is by far; different from "Drugs" and personally i dont like refering to marijuana as a drug; think of it more as a medical plant ya know?

But Marijuana is definatly not a stepping stool for other drugs, its only that way if you are stupid and want to do other hard drugs.

 

Honestly, never. Mawi Wawi will never be legal in many states. Logically, it's supposed to be illegal. It's done more harm than good. Medical Mawi? There's tons of medicine that can be used to cure yourself. Excuses to legalize drugs.

 

Tell me in what cases that it has done more harm than good? You just listen to what other people have to say and just assume since they say its bad then it must be. Yeah there can be other meds but marijuana can also help. Better than other meds. Marijuana can help cure certian kinds of cancer.

Marijauna will become legal when our Government Falls apart, or we fall into a 3rd World Country.

A family member of mines life has been wrecked because he smoked weed through high school.

Just because someone famous smokes weed doesn't mean you should..
And just because you think lots of other people smoke weed doesn't mean you should too.

By the time your 30 imagine how much money you could of saved if you'd put it in your bank instead of spending it on weed, trying to act and feel cool. You might not think it's much money saved, but a few thousand dollars can make a big difference.
