Reporting Scammer and a word of advice.

First, a reminder to all buyers and sellers.

1. If the person you are dealing with hesitates when you ask for sensitive information, he/she is most likely trying to scam you.

2. Never trust anyone. Always have something that you can use against the person.

3. Question his/her explanations. If his/her stories don't add up, there's something he/she is not telling you.

4. Do RESEARCH. Google will reveal everything.

5. Avoid paying as "Gift" to unknown users. Always ask for an invoice.

6. Patience is the key to a successful transaction.




I was contacted by a seller asking if I would like to purchase his Diablo III beta account.

He claimed that he was having trouble with his PayPal account, and that he could only take a trade. He provided me his Battle.net email and password, asked me to buy three tickets to a movie in Toronto, and to email it to him in return for the answer to the secret question.

I said that I will not go first, as he would have complete leverage if I have nothing on him. He adamantly refused to go first, so I began doing some more background research.

It turns out that he is a repeat scammer on multiple forums posting under different names. When I started questioning him, he logged out.
