Please help with VPS set up?

Hey guys i bought a vps and a completely forgot how to set them up and photonvps is retarded with customer service...
When i first get the "server details" (Ip, pass, etc) then i open putty to connect my computer to the server. Then what do i do? What command do i put in putty? I thought it was like "Vncserver" or "Vncsrver" or something... please help i will love u

Putty is an ssh client. If you want to VNC in you need to have two things. 1. A gui like tux said this can be kde, lxde, gnome, openbox, fluxbox, or whatever 2. You need to have a VNC server running on your box.

Install nmap on your computer and run nmap -p "insert VPS ip here" if ports 59XX is open chances are you already have the service up. then just install a vnc-client on your home computer like realvnc or vncviewer and type in your VPS IP address with the VNC portnumber at the end ex. 71.75.61.132:5901.
