When youre banned a message comes up stating your ban reason and gives you a link to the dispute forum. However, when you click the link it brings you back to that same page. The only way I see getting to the dispute forum is using a proxy or deleting cookies.

I havnt been banned in a couple of months so it may have changed since then but is it possible allow a banned member to see that section of Sythe? If so can a vote take place to implement that page? Or is that a part of v-bulliten you cant change

I think it is fine the way it is, usually everyone gets the idea that you have to clear your cookies to see it. This would probably take some coding to implement, and I doubt it will happen until the VB4 upgrade has been completed, and that is if an admin deems it necessary.

Most people that get banned are newcomers, what if the person is new to forums in general and wont know how to do this? Not everyone is computer savvy, itd be making it a bit easier for banned members to post appeals whether they know what to do or not. We cant just assume everyone does :p

If it isn't too hard to implement, I'm up for it; after the Vbulletin 4 update of course.

Most of these "newcomers" that get banned are vaders and won't be disputing in the first place. A newcomer doesn't just get banned out of nowhere.

Besides, I stated that if an admin deems it necessary then I support it being added after the VB4 upgrade.

the banned usergroup by default can't have any permissions, from what I understand.

Matthew just needs to add the logout code (which Idk how hard is to do) to the banned reason page, perhaps with a note "Logout to view the dispute forum".

That is correct in a sense it would be impossible to make a banned user who could only view the dispute section. He/she would, I believe, have to be able to see all forums. (Personal vbulletin experience)

There will be a message on the ban screen with the vb4 update that states "To post a dispute, clear your cookies to logout then go to the dispute forum"

This has already been implemented into the VB4 version. I personally brought this matter up not too long ago.

    Closed.
