'Remember When' Nostalgia thread.

Anyone ever fall for that "myth" that you could supposedly get a Scythe from casting 'Curse' on a pile of logs in the Varrock lumber yard? I got my hopes up so high for nothing when I finally became member lol...

 

Remember training your first few combat levels on chicken, while keeping an eye on the farmer, and avoiding them else you got slapped?

This thread made me tear, I even went and listened to the old music. Good thing rs2006 is coming soon and that will be awesome. Though I think most people will have 2012 mindset and it won't be as fun as the good old days.

Remember buying your first Rune set?

 

Anyone remember RSC? When Elvarg was like... A god? Anyone remember chanting the good old "Bank sale" for hours? Boy... As much as I appreciate the G.E. is, it's ruined RS by making it a whole lot easier.

 

Remember when in free to play you used to stand around the bank of the bank to try to buy/sell your guthix or zammy amour and they used to be the shit. :nuts:

 

Remember when it was actually fun to play or discuss RuneScape?

 

Remember getting member for the first time, how excited you were?

 

remember when when you saw "system update" you would drop whatever your doing and rush to your nearest rune shop, so after the update all the rune's stock were full and you could pickup runes ALOT under their street price, hop world and repeat for cheap runes/profit xD

 

Remeber when Dragon chainbody was 25m, and a huge acomplishment to have.

 

Remember when there were combat-type randoms-such as the: evil chicken, zombie, fish troll, and rock golem.

 

Remember standing in Varrock General Store for ages, waiting for people to sell stuff like uncut gems to it, then buying them for 50gp?

Remember selling 50k unstrung bows to the general store, 10 at a time?

Not only that, I think the worst part about it is that that it has ultimately killed player interaction.

 

Don't really see many people chatting and such at the G.E., just constant buying/selling and training in silent mode. =(
