Senate will hold meeting on Bountygate

Along with all of the other stupid things going on this one caught my eye. There are far more serious things going on than this.

Playing football my whole life I disagree with the dramatic punishment by Goodell alone for this but c'mon man this is a little too much..Wait...A lot too much.

 

Considering that recently there has been several players killed by hard hits this is pretty serious. It is wrong to place bounties on some people that can cause serious injury.

 

That is mainly helmet to helmet contact. Rules on helmet to helmet contact I completely agree with but, if you hit someone hard and it is perfectly legal there is no problem to me.

I understand your argument but from the time you start playing football you are told and taught to hit people as hard as you can. Hell, from pop warner to collegiate level you see teams reward hard hits and good plays with stickers on the helmet. Could that be seen as a bounty system with a different currency? The senate needs to leave the matter to the NFL and deal with the more pressing issues.
