Should Marijuana be Legal?

K2 is 100% legal in most states in the USA and everywhere in Canada. The states it is illegal in you can still get it off the internet with no problems. Its not very inforced.

I believe marijuana will be legal almost every where, not now though. And I think it should be legalized simply because alcohol is legal and were in 2012.

 

I believe the government needs to stop telling people how to run their lives.

I think the best thing to do would be to make marijuana buyable in local shops this would solve things like crime.

I believe Mexico has done this. They legalized possession of 7 grams of every drug and now only target dealers. So far it has worked too.

It's super illegal here in Utah. They raid houses for half ounces of marijuana here. They call it "no tolerance".

I call it "power trippin".

It should remain illegal. It has adverse biological effects. If you want the government to quit regulating your intake, you should be okay with them halting the regulation of the food industry. If you don't trust the government to regulate the drugs you take in, but do trust them to regulate the food you eat, you're daft. I'm sure you'd enjoy the high from an ergot fungal infection on grain, yet no one seems to be fighting for their right to eat rotten grain.

And to the idiot who said hemp was the female and cannabis was the male. It's two separate species in the genus Cannabis. It's difficult to tell the difference. THC concentration is one of the major differences.

Also, for every "study" done about the positive effects of Cannabis has another contradicting it. Ask any biologist how they feel about the use of Cannabis and the answer will always be the same.

Legalization has nothing to do with regulating intake; there's no way the government could regulate it. I think you're confusing possession and intake.

Who's says we don't trust the government to regulate the drugs we take (assuming you're remark is directed at those who support legalization and use the drug as well)? Either way, that statement is nonsensical as drug intake and food consumption aren't related in the least. It's like saying "it's wrong that the government will punish me for murdering my neighbor, but not for swatting a fly."

An ergot causes a disease, not a high. The reason no one is fighting for the right to eat it is because there's no regulation against eating an ergot. Just as the government won't punish you for staring at the sun until you go blind.

That means absolutely nothing because the reverse is also true about that statement, hence why it's such a highly debated topic.

never legalize it, I smoked it for 5 years and finally quit 4 months ago i couldnt see what it was actually doing to me until one day i woke up looked in the mirror and didnt like what i saw. My face was awfully thin and i had very pale skin, i could never really look into a mirror for those 5 years as i pretty much hated my apperance, i lost most of my freinds and only communicated with other stoners. It did eventually get to the point where i couldnt physically go into town to go shopping because i was so parinoid about shit, never really had any girlfreinds just the occasional fuck with some rough bitches. Depression was a fucker because i would always get it atlests twice a day, suicidal thoughts making me feel worthless and wasting my life, the sad think is im 19 now and i still have to walk to freinds out because i find it so hard to consentrate on my driving lessons, its in one ear and out the other but im slowly getting there. also i find it alot easier to talk to people now , before i couldnt even look them in the eyes... anyways ive got about 20 more reasons why it shouldnt be legel but this is dragging on, Thanks for listening.

 

Just like alchohol or anything else weeds effects people differently, and how you control your high and what you dow hen you smoke is totally up to you. It WILL be legal, it's just a matter of time.

 

Some people would argue that a "high" in and of itself is an adverse affect. It steals your senses. However, I do realize that's obviously an invalid argument.

The inhalation of smoke is harmful. I'm sure you'll mention vaporizes and the like though so that's also a pretty garbage point. Perhaps I'd like to point out the various impurities strained into pot these days. It's dangerous, at the moment. Also, I'm fairly certain legislation will do little to disallow these impurities from being added if legalized. (They still sell cigarettes despite adverse effects and obviously, Congress has little knowledge of how drug synthesis and production actually works)

Legislation making marijuana illegal is there in order to regulate its intake. If you possess marijuana, you obviously intend to a) sell it or b) use it.

It's not different at all, buddy. The government notices that generally rotten meat has a negative affect on those who eat it. Therefore, the government forms programs in order to regulate meat packing. The government notices adverse, harmful effects pertaining to drug intake and use and subsequently, formulates a program to regulate its intake. I do, however, concede they don't regulate your meat-intake at gun-point but conceptually, it's an extremely similar situation.

In summation, you don't trust the government and its many scientists and professionals to know more about drugs than you do. (Do not confuse Congress, those who will push legislation and the FDA, the people who know what they're doing)

Ergot is a hallucinogen. It does cause ergotism but apparently adverse biological effects are irrelevant when it comes to drug-use.

i believe that marijuana should become legal, but also needs to be taxed by the government as it is being right now. Marijuana is completely harmless and has a 0% overdose potential. Some say it may cause cancer, but lets be real ANYTHING will cause cancer.

Marijuana could easily become America's #1 Cash Crop. Along with this it would greatly reduce the violence from the mexican cartels that are causing thousands of deaths along the US/Mexican border.

Another major thing here is a greatly upgraded form of bud. This type of bud is not laced with crack, coke, or heroin. Its pure THC straight from the grower to the consumer, or grower to supplier(dispensary), to consumer

This doesnt really have anything to supportt that it should be legalized, but im sure my fellow enthusiast enjoy the almost triple THC content also

 

Why are people so clueless and ignorant? Marijuana can, has and will continue to destroy lives. Sure it doesn't cause physical withdrawal or make people go insane, but it has extremely negative effects when overused and many people over look them.

Some people let it become all they want to do with their lives. It's happened to me - this is how I know. Everything else in life lost it's luster and all I looked forward to was just smoking and if I didn't, I got really fucking depressed. I neglected my schoolwork and my family just so I could smoke up some more. Stole money from my parents too just so I could smoke up that night. In moderation it's perfectly fine - but when you become a stoner, you're a fucking moron and need to reevaluate your life.

And negative effects? Are you joking? Extreme paranoia/anxiety - social awkwardness/losing your social abilities - lack of sleep/no desire to eat unless recently smoked - slow thinking, memory loss...I'm not even looking shit up this is all what I have experienced when I just smoked all the time.
