Four number names vs 3 letter names

What's worth more? A name with four random numbers (2791), or a name with 3 random letters (IQF)?

I was just wondering because it seems like more people buy 3 letter names then four number names even though there are only 8,999 or something combinations of four number names and over 17,000 combinations of 3 letter names. If there are about 8,000 more three letter names then four number names, howcome everyone pays more for three letter ones?

If there's another section where this would fit better please move it.

Neither are rare but it depends if you like them, if they were something epic like "1337" or "lol" people are likely to pay more. In my opinion I think more people will buy 3 letter names than random 4 digits but the name sales market seems to be declining lately. I have a list of 2500+ available 3 letter names which proves they aren't rare, however it is worth taking owenership of a few incase someone comes along and happens to want the particular 3 letter combination you have

Four number names vs 3 letter names

Stop spamming and read my thread again. I asked what's worth more, a random 3 letter name (NOT SAYING THEY ARE RARE AT ALL) or a random 4 number name (NOT SAYING THESE ARE RARE AT ALL EITHER).
I'll make it real simple for you:

There are about 9k four number names.
There are about 17k three letter names.
Even though there's a larger quantity of three letter names, they are still worth more to most people.
    Why is this?

Oh and please don't say it's because it's shorter. That's like saying "sywcg" is worth more then "Cookie" because there's one letter less.

Personally, numbers look a bit repulsive to me. I had a choice to changed my name to 3 same number 1 different. IE 9991. It didn't look nice, so I stuck with my current name.

When I see 3 letter names on the market, it looks better I guess. These letters could also have a meaning, to the owner at least.

But letters rarely even sell. If you look at some threads, you'll see they would sell random 3 letters for like 1M. So not that big of a difference.

Not to mention it would be odd if someone called you by the numbers you have as your display name. I mean it would take me some time for me to realize someone is calling me, when they just start saying a random number.

Thank you for a response that actually makes sense..

You said three letter names could mean something to someone, well what about four letters, can't they mean something to someone too? "1994" could be the year someone was born, or "1287" could be four of the numbers in someones phone number. You also mentioned it would be hard to realize somebody is talking to you when they start saying some random numbers. What of someone started saying random letters like "nsj" a bunch of times, wouldn't that confuse you as well?

Four letters could mean something as well. But the more letters added, the lower the possibility for it to actually mean anything to a person. An example, the word "RKLA". It could mean Runtkirt loves Apith to you. But if it was something like RKICMILWA, it's really unlikely it could mean something. If you want to know, it means Runtkirt is crazy mad in love with Apith.

I highly doubt anyone would want a number as such. Birth year, that's understandable, but I cannot imagine myself using digits from my phone number. If someone says "3247", you wouldn't think they were calling you. It takes a lot of getting used to. But letters, seems easier, at least for me.

I'm not saying that 3 letter names are better than 4 number names. But majority of the people would prefer 3 letter names, random, unless the number meant something to them. 3 letter names and 4 number names rarely get sold in the market for a decent price.

    Are you serious?
Your post is totally unrelated to my question and has been reported for spam. Go to the names sales section, look how
many of them get sold, then tell me nobody gives a shit about random 3 letter names. Goodbye to your +1 postcount.

Apith was the only person that gave me an actual answer to why people like random 3 letter names better then random 4
number names. Can anybody else tell me which they prefer and why? Or are you too busy spamming to care..
