EpicBot NEEDS Scripters... BAD

I have been noticing an extreme lack in script writers at EpicBot.
Not sure why but I hope some scripters read this thread and go apply to be on the team.
They desperately need it.

Mods, please forgive me if this is considered spam, but I find those thread very humorous.

On topic, what's stopping you from learning yourself? I know you're probably gonna say "I'm really busy, school / work / college" (that seems to be the the most popular alibi), but I'm also willing to be that the EpicBot community isn't very helpful in teaching you to script on your own. This factor makes me feel really great about being part of a great community like SRL, it simply can't be beat.

How about asking some (if there's any) experienced scripters there in the EpicBot community if they'd like to put out some tutorials, or give a little bit of time and teach newer users to script on their own? If they have any respect at all for the members of their community, they should comply.

 

Actually, I am learning how to script... On my own mainly, but the EB community is providing me with some good sources and script source codes... Its not something you can learn in a day/week/month.

 

Epicbot is a great client, I think half their problem is EB staff trying to get the site stable, payment options working etc, that there isn't a lot of emphasis on the scripting.

The other problem is it's not a "lets work together" it's "we'll make it, you buy it" situation. Which wouldn't be a problem if they had the man power to do it.

 

I kind of agree with that. That thing they're working on the most is getting the newcomers like myself to shut up about scripts and payments until they get it settled, plus the client still need a lot of work. I can't seem to get RareBot to work in my favor, mainly because of two reasons, i dont know how to script and their website is down 90% of the time. But epicbot's staff is very... Idk how to put it but basically they aren't in the favor of people attempting to learn how to script so they can help the community... Their main focus is to get a payment system up so people can but the scripts. But honestly why would they buy the scripts if half of them don't have a script writer in the first place.

 

Coding is actually rather simple. You can easily learn to make a script in a month, or a week, and probably a day if you want to actually try. When I was there for the brief time it was more 'How much can I make?' and not 'What can I make to make this bot better?' They don't want you to learn to script because it will eat into their profits if you make a better script, plain and simple.

 

Epicbot definitely isn't the bot to script for, Nobody want's to do it. Now that PB is back on it's feet, I'd suggest going to them or Simba if you really want to learn. PB is very similar to EpicBot I'd assume, so I'd go with that.
