McAffee is considered one of the worst anti virus ever. Do a scan on another anti virus, and see how many Trojans/viruses you have.

Norton Internet Security ftw. It is expensive but I never have to pay for it personally, my mother buys the one that is good for 3 computers.

No, you can use it on 3 computers, but all you have to do is remove it completely and install with the CD again and you get another year free:huh:

I use Norton, it works ok, I don't have problems with virus's so I don't really care.

I am a completely uneducated and amateur PC repair person, Ive learned what I know out of necessity, so the following info is to be used at your own risk, but Ive had fantastic luck with the following:

I run Zenok free antivirus in around 25 pcs, want to speed up your machine, get Nortons or McAffee out of them, if everything else is running right and you have a high speed connection, you should see a difference, that is the number one reason I pull out either of those programs when I come across a PC that needs repair, they leave with Zenok on them (be sure to run the online removal tools for either) and everyone loves the free auto updates.

Microsoft Security Essentials is actually really good, so I've been using that. I hardly ever get any bugs in my computer but if I do the real time protection catches them almost every time.

I also use superantispyware to scan once in a while. While it doesn't sound legit at all, it is.
