WOW Or RS?

RS, First of all, only €7:50 wich I can do with my phone
can't afford the fee for wow ( I admit it)
I started with RS a long time ago, so I won't quit now.
I like the fact that there are 25skills, lots of minigames,
and quests like no other mmorpg's.

 

Oviously a majority of people on this site is going to say runescape because the site was set up for runescape so this debate isnt quite fair anyways of course im going to choose runescape.

 

WoW doesn't take so long to get maxed levels but the reason why I like WoW better is because I'm bored of Runescape. I'm a level 20 waiting on my next pay check to get the full version of the game.

 

I like how people didn't focus alone on the graphics. I was thinking about doing the same, but then decided even so graphics are part of the game. I personally have only played WoW a little bit, but liked what I did play better than rs. Unfortunately WoW like others said isn't something I can just log in and mess around with for a little while and log right back out.(which is how I use to play when I did play rs) So I choose rs when I did play those games for that reason, but to be honest I would have liked WoW better givin I had more time I think.

 

It's really a personal preference, no one game is better than the other.

Runescape is amazing for a web based game, just purely amazing how they've done it.

At the moment, I play both World of Warcraft and RuneScape, and it's been like this for many years, just played them off and on.

Runescape is a lot more laid back, WoW needs a lot more time involved. For example on WoW if you want to go and do a dungeon, it's going to take 1 hour MINIMUM, and raids, don't even get me started.

 

Hard to say, this is coming from someone who's played runescape for 6 years or so, and WOW for only a few months total.

I find runescape is more "addictive", when I played RS for fun, I could play it all day and not be bored, with WOW, I would get bored after a couple hours.

I like runescape's quests over WOW, the runescape quests have a bit of a better storyline to them, while WOW's quests are all the same, and too simplistic to really care about the specific storyline they give for each one.

Can't compare PVP I never did PVP in WOW.

not to be off topic, but you could try perfect world, even though it takes around 2-3 hours to download it is a really fun game if you start playin it hmu, Sin_Brett case sensitive btw, i'll help you out

 

Asking this question in a forum where most people haven't tried WoW is pretty silly. You shouldn't even compare the two.

RS. I've never tried WoW before because I've heard stories about how addicting it can be.

 

Runescape because it was the first game that i got into Mmo wise and im not a big time of learning other games after learning 1.

 

I use to enjoy playing rs but then it got very time consuming and if your on for an hour or two on runescape you don't feel like you accomplished much in that time, then toast showed me WoW and I quite enjoyed it, the community on my realm is fairly mature so there isn't a lot of childish people doing stupid things. Also one thing I like about WoW is the concept of teamwork which I didn't find in RS a part from group pking and even then the pvp in WoW is far better than RS.

 

I agree, the teamwork that you use in Runescape pretty much doesn't even come close to the teamwork and coordination you need for WoW.

I have Played runescape for about 10 years, and WoW for about 4 years.

The both are completely differenet, Runescape is more rewarding as the fact that player killing yields an income, where as on WoW all you really do in PvP is get honor points to buy PvP equipment.
A huge difference between the games are that usually, WoW only kicks in at maximum level, where as runescape sort of dies off if you're maxxed.
I like the fact that WoW requires alot of teamwork for the PvE side of things, where as runescape is just sit and watch the screen while doing the same thing all the time. You can really compete on WoW, Things like Damage/Healing meters.
WoW is more user friendly too, with the ingame GM help, Party groups for things like leveling & Instances (Dungeons).
However Runescape i would say has the better community, It may have its fair share of young kids who are annoying and constantly flaming, but the Older, more mature players really make the game, seen as you can do lots with them, from skilling to killing, and lots of various minigames.
Where as on WoW you can only really do the same things with friends and it gets pretty boring.
Runescape Has alot more skills that everyone can train, WoW you are stuck in a decision between which two to pick, where different proffesions equal to different perks, Where as engineering is seen as great for pvp, for the boosts and parachute etc. Where as Jewelcrafting is seen good for PvE with the epic gems you can make for players only.
Where as WoW is hell of a lot more expensive, it is so much different and diverse compared to Runescape, I personally could choose no winners.
As currently, i both play Runescape & Wow, usually log on WoW, do a Heroic and get Valor capped, then sort of log off if nothings happening, Log on Runescape do farming run, talk to friends, Maybe PK a bit.
Then raid with the guild on WoW.
Atleast then i wont be playing a game im bored of, i get the best of both worlds.

 

I would have to disagree runescapes storyline is absolutely atrocious. World of warrafts storyline is amazing, you just wont understand it unless you take the time too and stop speeding through text.

Ot:
Pvp in WoW vs runescape, wow wins. Simply because things are more balanced even though some things still need work but it is almost impossible to do that anyways. The pvp wow in much more interesting due to the fact you can do Arenas which is similar to the duel arena in runescape but it actually takes skill compared to lucky hits like on rs.

Graphics: Well wow wins.

Sub cost: Rs wins. But you pay for what you get.

Content: They both release content quite often but I feel the quality of wows content is much better.

Gearing: Gearing is much better in wow due to the fact you dont have to use all your virtual currency to get gear. You can obtain gear by doing battlegrounds and dungeons. While in rs most of your gear is obtained on the G.E. unless you already have gear to do corp and god wars etc.

Performance: I would definitely say wow wins on this too. Runescape is pretty laggy even on a gaming rig like i have. I get a constant 60fps in wow with almost no problems.

Interface: Wow has a customizable interface, what's not to love? Runescape gets a bit annoying.

Playabilty: Runescape I wont lie is very fun, but the effort and grind you put into it just doesn't seem as rewarding as wow. I also like wows camera movement and how you can zoom in on things. And mounts! Runescape needs mounts!

Classes and races: Wow obviously wins there, you can be a pure, rune pure, tank, or main in runescape for the most part. And everyone is a human in runescape. In wow you get to be tons of things and combinations. My favorite being the feral druid.

Anyways that is my quick review. I used to play rs religiously, then i started wow and i played that and it was the most fun mmo i ever played. Due to the addictiveness I quit and the sub costs are hard to pay for as well if your on a tight college budget.

Rs is better. Wow is too handicap. Raid finder, dualspec for 10Gold etc.
