How did everything get changed in a day?

Nothing is worse than spending money on an account, getting turmoil and overloads with your own money, and getting a ton of milestones, and seeing your password not work. The account I bought has been hacked about 10 times since I bought it, and usually I can simply recover with email, no big deal. This time, it was different.
I tried logging in and of course, it didn't work. I went to the appeal section and my email didn't work! Thinking I typed it wrong, I tried again, and it said it didn't work. My eyes widened as I saw my recoveries even got changed. None of them were what I put, and when I tried with my answers, it said they were wrong. I also got the email from Jagex on 3 different emails saying "Denied" in about 1 second after I sent the appeal, so I was thinking it was just because my Ip was flagged (I have no idea how it could've got flagged either...) So I went to my friends house. This time it took about 20 minutes to get an email back, but I did, and it said all the recoveries were wrong, previous passwords, everything.

What I'd like to know is, how the FUCK did everything get changed in a matter of a day? No, I'm not retarded, I looked and it never said an email change/recov change was pending. The person who sold me the account is on spring break and can't help me recover it, and he usually is the one to help. I had a good 100 mil on that account and I really don't want to lose it to some douchebag, how can I get it back and change my info back??

 

You can change everything in like 1 hour if you can recover the account. When you recover it as stolen, it resets the email and recoveries, thus you can put a new email and new recoveries on it. Im pretty sure of this because I did it once when somebody was using my staker and he tried to hack me.

 

How do you recover it as stolen..? When I click Recover Account it just brings me to the input email thing.

Also, it won't let me submit appeals, as apparently I've "abused the system"...

if it got hacked 10 times you probably shouldn't have put much gps on it..

 

The guy who helped you "recover" it so many times has problaby profited off you like 10x now.. i would leave the account lol..

 

imo buy RS gold on a different account, then trade it to yours. i bet the online sites keep a list of names to try and hack lol.

 

You can't blatantly break the rules (RWT) and expect justice >.>
The owner who is on 'spring break' has undeniable evidence he owns the account and even if you get it back, which is highly unlikely, you still shouldn't play it. - xfer everything off and leave it.

 

I xfered most of the stuff off of it, 100 mil is about 1/5 of the money I had. I emailed Jagex's account support and told them the account was real world traded, at this point I don't want it back, I want the asshole that recovers it to lose everything.

 

The guy who sold it to you is the one recovering it.

 

If the original owner emailed Jagex (or even complained on the forums) they could have manually removed the email and recovery questions.

I remember seeing a thread for this. I also remembering a friend telling me about this. They would wipe and change all your information if you can prove you're the real owner. I don't really know how it works.

 

Lol, this is why I have never bought an account. My main was given to me for free so idc if it gets recovered even tho it cant. My pure was banned for 4 years and before that it was my best friends acc, I got it unbanned from a perm and now am using it to its potential.


My friend bought an acc last weekend, guess what? It got taken back. Fuck buying accs, all ppl on rs do is scam. There is not one person except Irl friends that play, that i will trust on rs. My FL is less than a scroll long for a reason,lol.

 

This is why you should never buy any accounts from anyone, no matter how far into the future you purchase them they can and almost always will be recovered, it only takes 15 minutes to change all of the recoveries and emails and such after you recover the account. It sucks man, i understand but you'll get over it hopefully quick.

 

The owner most likely is recovering it, sorry for your loss mate, this is why i quit runescape ages ago.

i really dont know what to tell you other than that really sucks man. i know what its like to have something taken from you on rs that you worked pretty hard for. the feeling just sucks.

 

Similar thing happened to me with my account i had back in 2002, numerous 99's, 135 combat, ovl's, rapier etc. Don't know how i lost it though, my only guess would be a key logger or phishing or something that for some reason i foolishly got myself into somehow, but it's left me pretty bored in some of my free time recently :/

try scanning your computer for a keylogger or RAT

 

This is the exact reason I never plan on buying an account.
