Just saw that, wouldn't it be more logical to just move it to the correct section than to just close it? Could have just written "You posted this in the incorrect section, please use "insert forum subsection here" next time. Thanks."

Idk it's no real big deal just feel like it'd be a lot more helpful to the member, as what happened there the user probably won't bother to repost his question and won't even get it answered. EDIT: the guy did repost it lol but still

Endless new threads would be made saying 'My threads been deleted!' because they're unsure where it's gone. If it's locked and they're told where to post a new one, it doesn't cause confusion.

Every other forum's moderators simply move threads, and that issue never really becomes apparent...

I also guess it's up to the moderator/admin that deals with the issue.

When you're doing mass spam reports, that will add A LOT of unneeded time to the reports, which could be used more efficiently for other reports.

Mods will mod however they want, the goal isn't to move threads, its efficiency, efficiency and more efficiency.

    ^^^

It takes much longer to actually move the thread to the correct forum, and it's easier to just redirect the user to the right forum to post in. If they don't bother to repost in the correct section, they probably got their question answered.
