    Question about scamming

I'm quite well known among high level dungeoneers for selling dungeoneering items and I often have people refer others to me in-game.

Recently I got a new customer this way, and due to a dumb mistake on my part (it was 3 am :p ), he got an item he didn't pay for (essentially me getting scammed(Not that I care..I have tons of items)).

Next day, he pmed me while I was playing on another account and asked me to buy some items.

He probably wasn't aware that those two accounts are both mine. I just told him he'd need to compensate me for that first trade before I was going to trade with him any further.

My question is: Would you guys/Should I have gone along with him and just taken his money without giving him the item to get the money he owes me for the first trade?

Essentially it would be scamming someone who scammed me and I am curious whether you guys can provide me with any insight on whether that's wrong or right.

    Question about scamming

Was the extra item he got like the item he wanted, and did you ask for it back?

I think it does kind of matter. Even counter-scamming is scamming, but if for example you did not ask for it back, he had no way of knowing that he scammed you or anything.

    Question about scamming

Agreed. If you did ask for it back and he refused and then tried to get another item off you from a different account then, personally I would of taken the money for the first item, No more, No less. Then told him what happened. Then reported him for scamming and just told people what happened.

That's what I would of done. Not really the best option but personally I hate scammers/cons that will do this to someone and then just change people and do it again.

    Question about scamming

Scamming in anyways is not acceptable, as from i can tell it was your mistake, not his."due to a dumb mistake on my part" that makes it seem like your mistake, therefor it wouldnt be acceptable, even so, scamming a scammer isnt good.
