Possible to tank Jad...

...in Grifolic armour?

My defence is 80 but I can't be bothered to get 85 for Gano. The mage absorb is 19% for Grifolic, i.e i'd pray range and try and tank mage with brews.

Anyway if I brought flasks could I do it?

 

Is pray switching really that difficult? Jeez.
Of course it's possible, though. Just overload, brew, veng and claw Jad out. It's possible to melee Jad in 2 seconds (check youtube)

Tried it 3 times and I always get 1 hit...

 

Nothing to panic about, watch youtube videos, study his moves. When he spawns just watch him and don't even worry about attacking for the first few hits, just prayer switch and stay alive, then when you are comfortable you can start attacking

I have the same problem where I get constantly 2 hit, but I've never thought of this before. I always feel like I have to start attacking him right away and I rush into battle as soon as he spawns.

I am going to try just running around surviving next time and see if I can work on my prayer switches.

 

Yeah it's all about being comfortable. Just wait until your hands have calmed down before you start trying to engage him.

Same thing with the healers, whether you are killing them or just baiting them. Hit one at a time at your own pace and keep your attention on Jads attack

 

The hardest part for me is being able to switch to my prayers fast enough. I often have the right prayer on by the time I get hit, yet I switched a bit too late and therefore the prayer hasn't "registered" yet (seems to take a few seconds), and so when I get hit by his attack I still take damage.

Unfortunately, he has also been very consistent with his damage and so the last few times I have tried the fight caves for Slayer, I've literally been 2 hit

 

Lol damn. Try a world with lower ping, might help the switches

 

Yeh try using foreign worlds.

 

You cannot tank jad by praying range or magic and then receiving hits, he will 1 hit you in one of his hits. Just switch pray it is pretty easy.

 

Watch videos, see if there is a private server where you could perhaps practice? Find a wiorld with a correct ping for you and if worst came to worst pay someone to do it for you

 

Yeah I will try that next time. I think its just a bit of server lag, I have it with just about everything in RS.

 

Foreign words have worse ping.

 

Or ask a trusted, experienced caper like me or kabal to do it for free.

A decent way to practice is to have a youtube video running beside your rs browser, win 7 snap feature works well here, then practice pray switching at a pray restore altar til you are comfortable.

 

If you have Curses, just practice your prayer switching and don't worry about attacking Jad at all.

The deflect from curses will kill him rather quickly, and you won't have to deal with the BS healers either.
