    Best programming language to code RS related programs in?
    Hey, I've been working on quite a few RS related utilities/programs lately and I've begun working on them in VB.NET and Visual C# .NET until I realized they are problematic to run on systems such as Linux and Mac.

    Is it worth it to start over on Java or another cross-platform language?

    Sure since Java works on more systems.
    But via Wine they should be able to work on linux systems.

    C++ or java :)
    But yeah java's multi platform and also a lot of bots are coded in java, its makes to go that way.

    Best programming language to code RS related programs in?
    Java's very nice, you can create a LOT of applications that can be spread throughout different OS's (and shared online for that matter)

    java, it runs on 3 billion devices which I'm sure is not right since there are even more devices running it.
