GP prices after Epicbot

Hey guys,

I was wondering what you all think about supply, demand and price off GP since Epicbot is growing.

I think their Pro Sorceress Garden bot is the best way to make money. Compared to formal rsbots it's also much more cheaper while it does the same job. Link: http://www.epicbot.com/product.php?id=45

Since Epic bot is more known by the public day by day the amount of players is also growing. Before I heard of it there was around 50k player which is raised to 100k now. A week before bot nuke day the amount of players was 250k.

When Jagex can't keep Epicbot out of their game I'm sure the amount of active players will raise towards 250k again. This means more ingame gold, lower prices.

I thought about hyper inflation when I tried to buy some items today:
Bandos tassets + chest: 108% ge price
Claws: 116% ge price
Sara sword: 104% ge price
Armadyl gs: 129% ge price
DFS: 121% ge price
*some more items, around 100 - 120% ge price

Is there any change this is the result of botting comming back ingame?

I used Epicbot some months ago. Logged in to find my Claws and money was gone. It's a Keylogger, nothing else had access to my account. If Epicbot is growing the owners are going to have their pick of the accounts :/


More onto your point now:

Firstly a note on your post; More in game GP means there is too much currency in an Economy. You meantion lower prices but when the value of the currency is weak, the price of just about everything rises. In German about 1927-1930, the price of 1 egg was 1 mark. It rose to over 84 Million marks 3 months later. It's catastophic on an Economy and takes a very long time to recover from. This means your statement isn't correct. More in game GP = higher prices as there is too much money circulating an Economy.

Slightly worried about hyperinflation too, many items fell in price and they look like they are going up again. Inflation occurs when currency strength is weak, and RSGP has quite a low value at the moment, and the economy is still unstable so there is a chance that inflation will rise, but I think Jagex won't let the inflation go off the scale or it's the end of Runescape as people are not going to play the game with stupid inflation figures of over 50%.

I think many people will notice item prices going higher and higher and see a possible profit margin and try to buy their share and sell on for a profit. Higher demand = shift in equilibrium in the market and higher price. After a while it will crash down again, but the business cycle has a fairly simultaneous up and down rhythm and I think there could be a huge distortion in the coming months.

I'm an Economist, and this is my prediction at least. Only the future will tell if I'm correct
