    This.

If you cannot afford the burst rock lobs, then killing waterfiends with a crush weapon and a bunyip is the second best method in the game. If you can also incorporate familiarization into this once per week for triple charm drops, it can really add up fast.

Waterfiends are a great way to get charms on-the-cheap (depending on how you kill them, you can even profit from the loot).

A third method for charms (although this will get you primarily BLUE charms) is Ranging Wallasalkis. They are located in the Waterbirth Dungeon (same place as Rock Lobsters, and there is a multicombat room with a large amount of them on the way to Rock Lobsters).

If you wanted to get some extra 99's while getting your charms, you could Burst Rock Lobsters until 99 Magic, Range Wallasalkis until 99 Range, and finish the rest of your charms on Waterfiends to get any desired combat stats.

I'm not sure which I find to be more expensive: Rock Lobsters or Wallasalkis. The main thing about Wallasalkis is bringing a cannon to inflict a lot of extra damage (since it is multi), which brings the cost up.

If you want to look into any of the above methods for getting charms further, Google around (there are some great guides out there) or PM me for more info.

Good luck, and don't give up. In my opinion, Summoning is the most useful skill in RS. It will help you with everything!

Then your best bet is Barraging Rock Lobsters with full Vertus, Arcane, Master's Wand, Ragefire Boots, God Cape, Seers Ring (unless since me quitting RS 3 months ago there is better gear for maxed mage)

Although not as common nor nearly as exploited ... Killing steel dragons is a great way to obtain crimson charms. Unlike water fiends it does not require Soulsplit and turmoil to stay there for longer periods of time. It's around 60 charms per hour plus a chance of a visage too! If you use range and take alchs I can usually camp them for around 4-6 hours depending on how bored I get, and on the plus side no one is every in the brimhaven dungeon anymore and it is very profitable. Much cheaper then water fiends and you can still use familiarization to gain the tripple charms and head to waterfiends to get your tripple charms. Mith dragons are good too but require much higher stats.

Bursting/Barraging rock lobs I reccommend using battle mage armor and a staff of light to save about 60% of ur runes but if your rich and wanna use max mage do full virt chaotic staff arcane ect..

Burst rock lobs for sure. It's fast and you can stay there for so long if you bring renewals instead of pray pots.

    Crimson Charms...

I never seem to collect that many crimson charms from metal dragons, but find that they drop an abundance of green charms. I checked, and they have a 14-15% drop rate for crimson and gold charms, but a 34-36% drop rate of green charms.

Both metal dragons & mithril dragons are definitely an excellent source of charms (especially mith drags, considering they drop 3 at a time), but if you are looking specifically for crimson charms I would try a different monster.
