How many GB is your laptop?
How many RAM is your laptop?
Is your laptop has low memory?

If so, it would cause the problems so you might need to deliver your laptop in service and try find out what is the problems.

Most likely overheating due to fan failure, using up too much ram, or your hard drive may be dying.

Most computers let you check the temperatures in the BIOS, look in there and observe it after 20-30 mins and see what the temperatures go to.

When you turn your computer on and before it starts to boot Windows, you will see some options such as "F2 to enter BIOS". "F8 boot options".

Look for something along the lines of "Enter BIOS" and look for which key you need to press, for some computers it can be F2 for others it can be F8, just press the key it tells you to press and it should load into it after a few seconds.

Note: I wouldn't advise editing any settings or values in the BIOS unless you know what they do, it's quite easy to change something and force you to open your computer up in order to restore the BIOS to the default settings.

Some good air cleaner would probably help you out too. If your laptop is old, you could have a lot of dust build up in there and since most people don't ever clean their laptops on a regular basis, that dust may have affected ur fan.
