Hello, Sythe Community! Welcome to the fourth overall edition of SytheMonthly, and the second one since I've taken over JohnK's role! Now, February has been an awesome month, and also a great month for romance. That reminds me, what did the valentine card say to the stamp? Stick with me and we'll go places!​

Sythe Headlines


(Overly-Informative Jake): Hello, I've been assigned to do the following two sections in SytheMonthly by General Wert of the 5th division. I hope to achieve the quality as shown by the previous two writers: JohnK and Wulfspade1.​

New XBOX Sections!

As stated by Matthew on 2/24/12, new Xbox sections have been added to this forum! There is now a general Xbox section (where anything related to Xbox in-general could be spoken about), a Xbox clan section (where you can post about your Xbox clans), and Xbox Videos/Screenshots (where you can post videos/screenshots related to Xbox and it's games).

Bumping Rule Amendment!

At first, KMJT posted a thread about not being able to thank a customer with without ramifications. The thread can be found here: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1350349. And, after that thread, R2Pleasant followed up by making another thread. The thread can be found here: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1352116. It was primarily talking about the current bumping rule. The ongoing discussion thread has seven pages so far (125+ posts), it's a great example of community/staff input, and changing Sythe for the better.​

This month has been bountiful for user changes...​

A Demotion

Sacro --> Sacro

Sacro was first promoted January 1st 2011 as a RuneScape moderator. In February 2011, he switched over to market moderator. In June 2011, he was suspended for inactivity, but was re-promoted the same day. In August, Sacro was demoted, but was re-promoted the next day. Later on that month, he was promoted to global moderator. And, recently, Sacro has been demoted for inactivity. Sacro was always a wonderful moderator, and generally nice guy. I'm not surprised with his re-promotions, I'm pretty sure he carried RaSc at certain times. Regardless of his great moderation skills, he did lose activity, and that's when we had to let go of him. But, Sacro is still on IRC, and is still awesome. For those who don't know; he's a pool champion, professional sniper, etc. Relevant link: http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1205786.

A Resignation

JohnK --> JohnK

JohnK was first promoted on August 3rd, he quickly rose to become one of the most community involved members the site has ever experienced. He has created competitions with posts ranging 1000+, 10,000+ views, etc. He also made the original SytheMonthly. He was an extremely liked staff member, and was voted "most community oriented" in pretty much all the months since he's been promoted. When JohnK posted his resignation (source: http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=1335104), many were sad to see him go, and it was a shocking moment for us all. But, real-life priorities comes first, so in behalf of Sythe, we wish JohnK (oosh) the best! Good luck in life!

Two Global Promotions

n4n0 → n4n0

n4n0, the first of the two global promotions. He was originally a market moderator, and quickly rose up the ranks to become a global moderator. But, he made a pardon about his past misdeeds. He confessed to scamming $200 in 2007, but don't think it was for selfish reasons. He was homeless at the time; it was a time of desperation, and that's how he fed his family. Since then, n4n0 has handled THOUSANDS, and is extremely trusted. When he confessed his past misdeeds, he was stripped of his moderator status & head OMM, it was a very honorable thing to do. He was re-promoted in September, and has regained his global moderator status recently, great job!

Now, his pardon was during the "banfest of 2011." For those of you who didn't know, many user changes happened during that time:

n4n0 - Had the integrity to confess a scam that he wouldn't have been caught for, and it was during times of trouble.
Wulfspade1 - I confessed an $8 scam that took place before I got active on Sythe, it was also paid back before I was active on Sythe, as well. I would have never been caught for this.
Add My MSN - Ban Evader
Louis - Screwed up a 1b MM.
Feren Silver (OMM) - Conspiring to scam.
Vietballer (OMM) - Scammed.

Well, that's enough on that subject. Let us move on to the next global promotion:

Alteranz --> Alteranz

Alteranz requested to be back on the staff team in October, and he was recently promoted to global moderator. I've always known Alteranz as a great moderator, but he was before my time, so I don't have as much on him than I do with other members. Regardless, Alteranz has been doing a fantastic job! He's been involved in the community, VBulletin 4, etc. We wish you the best on your moderation.

A New Moderator

Laptop65 --> Laptop65

Welcome Laptop65, the newest addition to the moderating team. Laptop65 has been all over the place, he's an extremely helpful individual, and I wasn't too surprised when his promotion thread. He was very active in the RuneScape section, and has been doing a great job recently regardless of some criticism. Anyway, good luck on your moderating, Laptop65!

Emo Ethan: Hello, I will be doing the following three sections, I'm not very good at this kind of stuff, but life isn't fair, is it?​

So, how did you find Sythe? I found it looking for new ways to cut myself.
cosrob97: My cousin showed me Sythe.

What has kept you in the community so long? For me it's the dark background.
cosrob97: It's because Sythe is addictive. >_>

What are the most significant or defining events in your Sythe history? Mine was when I got scammed, the feeling of pain never felt so good!
cosrob97: Um, probably getting accepted into User Education, it really changed everything for me on Sythe.

Why did you like UE that much? What was your reaction when it was changed into CA, and then removed? I never really liked UE, I made 5 guides on how to cut yourself, but I got denied.
cosrob97: I always liked to vote, I find extremely fun (I have no idea why). When it was changed, I was like "alright, it's changed to CA, there's not much of a difference except for the amount of guides required." So, the team and I thought the lesser the guides, the better of quality they should be, but I guess Finn didn't think that way and it was removed. I was neither disappointed nor happy when the section was removed.

What was a moment in your Sythe career that you hated? I hated when someone made me "smile," I think that's what you call it.
cosrob97: Nothing, everything that happens is for a reason.

Describe yourself in three words? Or not, life is like a broken pencil anyway, there's no point.
cosrob97: A cheesecake ice-cream flavor.

What are your future plans for Sythe? Mine is to try to convince Richard to make the background darker.
cosrob97: Well, soonish, I may have to step down for a few weeks because of my exams. Then, I might come back or leave until my last year of school is finished.

Oh mai gawd!

I missed last months edition of SytheMonthly apparantly, which makes me very sad. So this is the first edition I have seen since JohnK passed on the torch and I have to admit.... WOW!

You did a fantastic job Wulfspade and I really enjoyed reading it. I really liked the little "characters" that govern each section, especially Emo Ethan during the interview :laugh:

Truly fantastic job mate, JohnK definitely passed the torch to the right guy. So stoked for next months edition!

What do you mean? It was before n4n0 and I were moderators, and did you read the entire post? We wouldn't have been caught, I paid it back, and n4n0 was homeless.
