Is Drake ACTUALLY A Good Rapper?

just dont look at his songs that make it to the radio like take care

I think he's pretty good when he's rapping, obviously some of his songs are made for the radio but overall I think he's good. I love his verse on "It's Good" by Lil Wayne,

"And got too f*ckin' comfy, cuz we still f*ckin' hungry, Young Money got the munchies,"
I like the way Young Money and munchies rhyme together.

"Faded, f*ckin' faded, aw yeah I'm f*ckin' faded, they tellin' lies about me, aw yeah I must've made it,"

"Watchin' all these kids, who thought they had it figured out, and then November came, they let my n*gga out."

 

"Cause everybody dies but not everybody lives"

Love that line by drake.

 

Just like a lot rappers nowadays he's a Fake..

So in my opinion he is NOT a Good Rapper

 

Too many auto-tuning artists.
I'd stick with tupac, dre, or tech

 

Look up the song "Fear" by Drake. It's one of his older songs, no auto-tune or anything. It's great.

 

For the most part, I do not like Drake at all.

I did watch a long documentary about him and his rise to fame awhile ago though, and by the end I had to admit that I had alot more respect for him. He seems like a genuinely good person, and like he is very passionate about making his music and performing for his fans. His qualities of good character help me to respect him a little more, but there are not to many of his songs that I actually think are very good.

Also, I just can't get over him being that kid in the wheelchair on Degrassi... not buying the whole rapper image.

He is overrated. But to be honest, there aren't many good rappers nowadays that are actually known by a lot of people.
Everything is overproduced now, I miss the raw rap from the 90's.

 

Those verses kinda blow. They rhyme/sound decent, but they have no real value to them. Real rap should tell a story, not just bitch about haters. Pop-rap is just immature.

His voice is annoying and I don't find him too talented.. his lyrics are normal compared to other rappers

 

That is a masterpiece right there.

 

I think he is a great rapper.
If you listen to his older songs and mixtapes, you'll see where his better lyrics are. All of these new ones are just auto tuned songs with catchy beats so him and Lil Wayne can make a couple million.

I still think he has a great character though and is a genuine person.

 

I pretty much like him. I know he uses too much auto-tune or something like that, but his music is with meaning.

 

Don't rate him at all due to the fact he sampled one of Jai Paul's songs and didn't seem to give him any credit. I'm sure he did financially though.
