I want to start a gold shop

I want to start a gold shop here on sythe, but im mostly worried about people doing cash back on paypal. What can i do to prevent this? I know selling to trusted is one method, but is there anything else?

 

Well for one the market is so saturated with gold shops right now it is hard to get into the business unless you can push huge volumes of gold at low, low prices.

It is hard to prevent chargebacks also, you could use things that are impossible to charge back. Western Union and thing are best for large trades, but trading with trusted, or at least mildly trusted through paypal is another way to limit chargebacks. Doing virtual item sales is a tough business when it comes to chargebacks.

 

Yes there is no real way to stop a chargeback so just trade with trusted members and take screenies of everything. Also it might be better if you don`t setup a gold shop but sell to people buying gold in bulk this way they are more likely to be trusted and probably won`t scam you however there is no guarantee.

 

so there isnt any good money in goldshops now?

 

Well no not unless you do like what i said above and sell it to trusted people with gold shops as bulk .

You could try it i suppose there would be no harm done however i do not think you would be able to keep up with the fluctation of the prices if you started a small shop .

P.s:Most gold sellers buy gold in bulk cheap and then sell for a bit more .

 

Don't, unless your prepared to break even at the start to get trusted in gold selling. But nowadays everyone's trying to start their own gold shop.

 

Having a new gold shop running is tough unless you are willing to invest alot of real cash into it.

It is also quite risky and very competitive.

 

At the moment I'd say don't even bother, hardly anyone will sell to you because your a newcomer, try getting your name out by posting around and stuff like that, and then when you are kinda well known start a shop up

It's hard to start a gold shop nowdays, there is alot of them and they are more then enough. And there is another risk that you will fail because of that you are not 'well known' or 'trusted enough'. So your only way going to be thro Playeractions.

 

You start a gold shop if you can supply gold everyday tbh..

 

Theres still very good money providing you have suppliers at like .5
The catch is, if you are new and do not have hundreds of vouches yet, no one is going to sell you the gold on sythe for .5, so providing you are getting your gold from elsewhere for now you could easily run a good shop.
Once you get trusted and people feel selling you gold has no risks they will start to accept your lower buying price that many of the gold powersellers offer. If you just started a thread new buying at .5 no one would sell it to you when they could sell it for that to a far more trusted person.

Also if you sell via PP you will get some chargebacks. It really is inevitable. You either allow PP and get a ton of buisness but A lot of charge backs or you sell via secure methods and get less buisness. You can also set up a secure checkout PayPal button, I think kerokerokola wrote a guide on it, and that is meant to be the safest way of selling on PP.

 

I just re-opened my gold shop too, try using Paypal through Player auctions or other payment methods such as Western Union, Moneybookers and bank transfer although there may be some fee's its 100% safe the buyer and seller.

 

Just work at McDonald's.

On a serious note, if you videotape everything and take pictures, you have big chance of winning the chargeback case.

 

Not to mention you always run the risk of a GP rollback in-game. It's a tough market to break into at the moment.

 

You can start a gold shop and sell via Playerauctions/ WU, its the safest method and some gold sellers here don't use paypal directly.

 

OK I sell FIFA UT Coins here on sythe.

I started late december 2011 and am still selling to this day. If you do not know what FIFA UT coins are.... they are a virtual item.

I have had many people try to chargeback on me and there is absolutely NO way to stop the person charging back. The best thing you can do is when you sell a virtual item receive the money for goods also make sure they have a confirmed Postal address on the details of the payment. Then if they try to chargeback you can send them a paperclip (or something worthless) to the postal address. Make sure you print off the invoice and put that in the package aswell. Then when it comes to posting go to your local post office and request a tracking number for the package. Then when you provide the tracking number the paypal you have concrete evidence you sent them their item.
