To those who cannot tolerate change

There have always been people who want things in RuneScape to stay exactly the same. Updates, improvements, revisions..they all take away from what made the original game fantastic. Interestingly, the past few months here I've noticed the amount of people who display this attitude explode. Every single update is shit, unnecessary, unfair or aimed at the wrong player group.

The majority of RuneScape neophobics are those who PK. New special attack weapons, powerful spells and player attitudes frustrate them to the point of jumping on the RSOF or Sythe and making a bitchy thread that does no good to anyone. These are the people I'm going to try and help today.

Bank your dragon claws, korasi, armadyl battlestaff and vengeance runes and head over to world 57. The F2P High-Risk-Wilderness world. In the past few weeks I've done a ton of F2p pking and to be honest, it's absolutely fantastic. I'm a main with average stats (90 attack, 99 strength, 83 defence, 70 prayer, 78 range, 94 magic) and I honestly have so much fun pking in free worlds. Hovering around 300hp in monk robes and relying on a R2H KO to drop your opponent for full rune, a zamorak set, or in one case, a red h'ween mask, brings back a whole lot of memories.

There are no overpowered weapons, no saradomin brews, no rushers, few safers, and no armadyl storm. Just pure, raw, oldschool pking :love:

You never know until you try it. Go there and experience f2p pking while there are players online. If anyone needs any help on the customs of F2p worlds/tips on what gear to bring, just post here and I'll be happy to help.

F2P pking will always be the same.

I agree it is much better without specs and overpowered weapons.

 

Ive had a f2p pure too with pretty medium stats. Was lots of fun. The f2p pk is very slow paced and you will not get instant KO from anyone. At one point it gets a ruined to 1def pures, the point is when you will start to go against full rune guys, after that moment it just goes to food waste.

 

Hi guys i know this might seem a bit nooby but could someone tell me what stats to get on my pure for f2p pking? and also what armour to wear etc .

I want to get good drops and earn some cash .

 

This would be a fun thing for most people, but I've tried f2p pking before and I never liked it..
Its just really hard to kill people for me, it takes so long (since rune hits so low) and everyone runs when they run out of food for me :/

It would be nice if there was like a world where you cant use any of the new weapons.. Like if you could you dragon (not claws) armor/weapons and rune but no barrages, chaotics, godswords, or any of this waaaay overpowered stuff that hit super high.

If your making a pure theres not much to get.. 1 defense, 40 attack, 60+ ranged and strength are what pretty much every pure has in f2p.
For the equiptment, assuming you have the stats I said above, green dhide chaps, leather/hardleather coif, body, vambraces, boots, and gloves. Maple shortbow with adamant arrows and a rune 2h (or scimitar) with a strength potion and the rest of your inventory swordfish.

Or if your going for some sort of f2p rune pure, you could get 40 attack, 40 defense, 60+ strength, full rune and scim+2h, then strength pot and full inventory of swordfish.

 

My 1 deence pure had 40att, 1def and 78str. It started to own after I got around 75 strength.

 

Exactly. The old P2P wilderness had DDS, MSBs with rune arrows, whips etc.

F2P pking has no specs, that added a bit of spice to pking back in the day. And the damage of the weapons aren't comparable to whips and MSBs. I guess you could use Gravite weapons, but even then, I'm sure people would safe.

 

This is actually a damn good idea OP. I've been questing non stop lately to get all the over powered P2P. Forgot I could just chill out for a bit in F2p. Might get on with a mate tonight and try my luck

 

i only f2p pk lol, p2p is just crazy with all the maxed pures and stuff around they rip my main whereas f2p you actually have a chance main or pure

 

they should just add an oldschool pking world

 

I just wish there were still people in the wilderness who were willing to risk more than 300k in gear... people are so cheap that's what ruins it for me. All you have to do is risk a few mil and you can be certain that some idiot with rune and a korasi is going to attack you without asking and tele away when you pull out a spec weapon. It's pathetic.

 

It depends. What combat level are you aiming for? Do you want to stay at 1 defence?

You can avoid that by heading to f2p worlds. People are willing to risk saradomin sets or rares and there's no chance of rushers.

Also, to all the people that say you don't hit in F2P pking, fight with no armour on (in monk robes for the prayer bonus). You hit 80% of the time and it makes for an exciting fight.

Not enough variety or loot in f2p imo

 

F2P just gets so boring after a while, but it's awesome to do every once in a while.

 

I have complained about many of the recent updates on Sythe recently that are undeniably stupid, and so I would like to defend myself in that regard.

I have to agree though, F2P pking is so much fun And its very easy to do on a main. I've currently got about 20 sets of full rune in my bank and its all from F2P pking.

 

Pking in f2p is so much more relaxed and fun to do. I'm working on a pure right now

 

Tl;dr: If you're sick of faggots in P2p, pk in F2p.

 

Ask for rare risks. Variety-wise I suppose you could fight in full corrupt dragon
