    Grade 11 Math Help Please!

For what integer values of k can each polynomial be factored? Explain!

    a) x(squared) + kx + 4

    b) x(squared) + 4x + k

    c) x(squared) + kx + k

I fucking suck at math, how do I do this?!

I dont really remember polynomial's but do they have a range of numbers that work for each or just a single solution? might be able to help if you could anwser.

That's the first one done for you.

All you need to do is find out what actually works in factorisation. Polynomials of the 2nd degree (i.e. quadratics) are rather easy; they're composed as Ax^2 + Bx + C. Notice what I've done in my solution, I've found out what AC and B are respectively, and then found values for k which suit the method of factorisation.

Use similar methods for the other two.
