I'm currently rebuilding my minecraft server and I'm wondering if people would be interested in paying $3 per 3 months to play on the server?

 

Doubt it. There's a ton of servers listed here and a great abundance more listed elsewhere on the internet where admission is free. You're actually the first I head who'd charge to whitelist users.

 

You will have no luck trying to start up a server and charging people. Your best option is to get a successful server going, and then ask donations in exchange for donation perks. You will make more this way, and it won't turn people off of your server as much as a fee would.
