I see what you are saying, but the game is already ruined. How are they going to recover the economy? It is going to be hard. I never see RuneScape mentioned when people say what are the biggest and best MMOs. I see things like WoW, Guild Wars, and Asian freemium MMOs.

to those people saying black and white, the wouldn't be hard to change. All colors have intensities or shades, all you have to do is change everything to what shades of gray they matched. Though they would alienate their player base if they changed the game to grayscale.

 

And grayscale wouldn't stop simba/scar/rid from working.

 

Color/ shape bots have been around since rs classic.... Idk why jagex would all of a sudden figure somthing out now.././/././../././:nuts: :nuts: :nuts:

Guys Runescape will NEVER NEVER NEVER convert to black and white/grey-scale...they are targeting bots because Jagex believes that they are ruining game-play. Converting the game into black and white/greyscale would ruin game-play..."cutting off the nose to spite the face."

They will most likely target Reflection/BCEL by creating some new obfuscation standards that will re-obfuscate the client every time an update is introduced... essentially mini-bot nukes that will make it very difficult even impractical for bot developers to keep up.

They will target color bots by changing uptext fonts/positions and continue to change the colors of random events. They may also bump up the frequency of randoms in the game...

They are calling the second bot-nuke wave "opitmus" I'm thinking that they could also foil bots by slightly randomizing color shades upon loading the client. In this case even Simba methods such as "color tolerance," which is designed to take pixel color average into account could really be screwed up. Also forcing a crap ton of particle effects everywhere could throw off color bots i.e snow, rain, dust, etc...but I really don't think that would be a huge problem to overcome

Still with all this said I don't think botting will ever go away...it's too damn profitable...and humans need to be able to see the screens which means so can bots...

 

may aswell make the most of it! Train insane! or remain the same!

No one knows, but they surprised us with their last nuke and I wouldn't be surprised now if the next one is even worse for bots.

 

I am going to ask you the same question I asked before.

How will they stop color/shape bots without making it impossible to play for humans?

Black and white RS would never happen but if it ever did then it would be easy to combat as I said in my previous post. Each intensity of black to white has a color number that is associated with it just like every other color you can think of.

 

Can I offer a suggestion? Altering colors, updated daily/hourly. For example, Changing all pixels with the code FF000 to FF001, FF002, FF003, etc. The color will look the same to the human eyes, but a bot designated to seek FF0001 will not look for FF0002, etc.

It would require countless hours of preparation, planning and resources, but I don't see why an automated system update can't be implemented.

 

The bots have color tolerances though, so they would have to dramatically shift the colors to avoid the bots.

 

This would only *possibly* affect Simba/Scar. But again, this would just make it so Jagex would have to go after individual players, which is a pain in the ass, and would only be directed at Goldfarmers I would assume. This wouldn't affect RiD, since RiD uses Jagex's official webpage without any form of copyright violating client software.

So, TL;DR

You can't completely get rid of Simba/Scar, and RiD will always work as long as humans can play the game.

 

Simba and RID I think they'll last forever , not Epicbot maybe.

There isn't a possible way to defeat color bots. Color bots work just as said: using color. Jagex would have to eliminate any aspect of color and shape into the game, ultimately defeating the purpose of the game entirely.

The only other alternative would be making it as Pockets stated earlier, lol:

 

I doubt they will remove every bot from the game, if they do people will find ways around it anyway.
