Is Squeal of fortune a good thing?

Hey guys I just wanted to share my concerns. Well as we all know the cheaper rares are plummeting as well as claws and many other items, and releasing a wheel that can give up to or over 10m a spin will only cause for inflamation. Also the claws and gs will discourage people from paying tens of millions and just hope for it with each of their 2 spins a day. I think it isn't a very well thought out update. Anybody else agree. Please tell me if I am missing something here or if you agree. Thanks

I think the wheel is here to stay. It is a great money maker for Jagex. Not every user visits Runescape on a daily basis, adding this will cause more people to visit more frequently. This is in return will make Jagex money in ad revenue. This wheel will influence the prices of many things, but not by a large margin.

All the high value items are untradable. That divine you might win is untradable.

 

I've spun the wheel 4 times and received two 50 GP rewards, a Mage lamp which gave ~60k xp and a Cooking one that gave around 9k xp. I think it's a terrible idea to give out such valuable items through something that every member can use twice per day, it really does devalue the items even if they aren't tradeable, people are less likely to buy the actual item now.

 

I think this is a great idea, people just dont understand that hte items are still untradable so there is no reson for them to panic sell shit and have the prices go up or down -.-

 

I agree, if you have noticed, on members accounts you get 2 spins per day. On f2p accounts you get 1 spin per day and it says "members get 2 spins, subscribe for your extra spin." This is obviously a way for them to attract more players to becoming members, they have been increasingly doing this with many things. ie: Members' Loyalty reward programme. I believe the wheel is here to stay, and it honestly shouldn't change the prices of these items by much, it is probably very rare that players will actually win something good.

 

Actually I just learned something else about these items..

The items arent the real items, theyre called "lucky" items
"Lucky Dragon Claws"
"Lucky Arcane Spirit Shield"
"Lucky Armadyl Godsword"
They function exactly like the original items
They are non-tradable
They disappear if you die with them
They have a slightly different look from the original items
Items will probably crash, but not as bad

 

This is a bad update. Even though the items are tradable, people will just wait to get that ags, or diving, and go with it. Now they don't have to buy that item. Oh shit they lose it? By then they've gotten a bandos set.

 

It wouldn't inflate things too bad. The Gp can only be spent in rs stores. The lucky items will likely add RWT value to the individual accounts however.

 

The odds on those items are about 1/20,000....

Not really? I've already gotten tassets and a med. xp lamp.
