How much longer do you think this shitty game is going to last?

Back up bro you are full on mad. Aside from you hating rs I can't figure out what it is you said you tried wow and felt bad about it? Or was it you just couldn't handle it? I played wow and basically any other MMO ever made yet time and time again I find myself conning back to RS. Rs is an amazing sandbox game it seems you spent so much time playing this game you have grown to hate it a with all things.

At the end the day jagged is a business. How much do you think it costs to run the servers that millions of people use daily? Or the payroll for the office workers, you think they do that for free?

A lot of people are still captivated by the game, and will continue to play.

RS won't die because of a 'decline of popularity' or anything of that sort. When it does finally die, it will be because Jagex took the old horse out back and finally shot it between the eyes.

Which I can see them doing within the next 5 years, to be honest. They have expanded interest into other MMO's, and if those take off, RS will quickly take the back seat I reckon.

Every year since like 2008 you idiots keep saying the game is dying and it has a year left.

 

I personally agree that the game isn't in its golden age anymore; however, I honestly doubt the game will completely burn out. As someone else has mentioned, the game still boasts thousands of active players and still wins rewards for being a top MMO game. No matter how much some may dislike, it's here to stay for at least another decade... albeit on the burners and neglected.

tl;dr: Runescape isn't going anywhere, the amount and type of players will.

 

It'll last 3+ years easily. Some people will quit but there will always be more. On the issue of ftp, runescape is a subscription game. The idea is to get ftp to buy membership. They don't pay, they get less. It's fair on those who pay to play. Doesn't make them money hungry, they're a company. Any company needs income.

 

basically summed it up. Jagex is a corporation, like any corporation it's based entirely off of profit. Sure, they like to please the players when they can, but like any good healthy business, profit comes first.

 

You clearly don't understand how much Jagex makes, they make a lot more than you think. tbh, it doesn't cost much to uphold servers. Jagex makes shitty updates that are poorly constructed that only require so little to develop.

Apparently greed is first priority.

 

Two to three years, simply based on the fact that there is a massive decline in the numbers of players and the fact that Runescape is such a grind, and what your work for pixels. It doesn't make sense and soon people will begin to realise this as they become older and more wise. Yes I'm having a rant but it took me six years to figure out that Runescape is a complete waste of time and it makes me angry that I have spent so long on it wasting day after day to grind for what ... A few Gp's and 12 99's... Real worth it!

I agree with that, but I didn't really play to get a few pixel stats, I played mostly because I've met some of the most amazing people on RS, and i'll never forget 'em, I'm sure I'll never meet people like those IRL. The main reason I even logged on was to talk to them.

 

2 years max for players as yourself who hate the game but are still around the rs community (must really hate it then being in rs forums to talk about it) but guess what when u quit another player will start.

Yes the new generation is exetremly bad, trolling/scamming use to be frowned apon but nowadays scammers and lurers get FAME.

Rs is what u make of it.

 

People said the same thing when staking came out in rsc
people said the same thing when rs2 came out
people said the same thing when free trade\wild was taken out
people said the same thing when bounty hunter was taken out
people said the same thing when the bot nuke happened.
What do all these things have in common? people moan bitch complain talk shit about the game but they still play it and the game is still around, this game has stood the test of time and is older than some of you kiddies, as long as there is money to be made the game will keep going.

Honestly, I can't even keep up with the useless Fagex updates anymore,
I quit playing (And started botting) in early 09' and since the bot-nuke, I've sold my account's and moved on with my life,
But this new wheel update just takes the cake for stupidity,
Recently, I've been hopping from Private servers whenever I miss the feel of just playing RS, currently I've been playing http://creative-scape.com/ and it's the best Old School server Im aware of, in my opinion.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but not every single payment type is $8/Month.

 

Think how people like the #1 rank in RS feel.

I really pity them sometimes, knowing that all they've accomplished in life is on a computer game. What happens when their parents call them up one day and say "So, what've you done so far with your life?". "Oh, well I've spent 950 days playing a game, is that good?"

And yes, I give Runescape 5 or so more years until it dies out.
I think eventually they will just start giving it less and less updates.

Give other MMOs like few months and then you will start to love them. Ive played so many MMOs over my gamer years and that has always been the case. When I quit RS Classic I had the feel for years but then I started playing Anarchy Online it went away gradually and now its mostly gone. Played it for good 3-4 years and now I sometimes get the feeling with this game.

Currently playing RS, EVE and Perpetuum. :love:

But yes, I admit. RS community is mostly horrible but what would you expect from children/pre-teen game. If you are 20+ yo and want a game with grown ups I highly suggest EVE Online. The game has gotten a lot newb friendly recently.

 

I'll give rs a few years if they keep going on this way.
