What's wrong with my RuneScape FPS?

First of all, I used to use the RS client thinking it would go faster. I only got like 15 FPS on there max, so after a while of being pissed off, I tried using Firefox. When I got on I had like 45 FPS max and I was jizzing (This is all on safe mode btw). That was all like 3 weeks ago, now I'm on FireFox and I still only get like max 20 FPS. Anyway to increase frame speed? I'm on a laptop and have done high performance, high priority, and close out everything I have open. Does anyone have a way to get my old FPS back? And I'm on a HP Pavilion g7 notebook.

 

You could try google chrome. I would also suggest getting some protection software, you probably have multiple viruses etc slowing your computer down.

 

The Runescape FPS has decreased significantly over the past month with alot of the new graphical updates that have been added to the game. Players all over the world are experiencing the same thing, even people high high spec computers.

The only solution I have really found so far is to reduce graphical details ingame, although that really pisses me off as I don't think I should have to resort to that on my computer..

Check RSOF "Technical Support" for a list of fixes that have worked for various players.

 

Possibly viruses and such, who knows exactly what it is. Clear out your cookies n anything else like that too.

 

It's not a virus, my computer itself is running normal. I just boosted it to max 30 FPS by using DirectX instead of software. That helped alot.

 

OpenGL has always seemed to run the best and look the most detailed for me, however that could just be me.

 

I run OpenGL HD all the time, and it's never laggy. I'm running it using the client, as that's given me the best results. See what processes you have running, maybe make the RS process "High" or "Realtime" process status, or just check cache, cookies or check for virus' that may slow your playing experience down.

 

Lately quite a few people have been having fps issues do to several of the graphical updates that have come into the game. I have quite a good computer + I have been running on the lowest settings and I still have the occasional lagg. Jagex has stated that they are working on the problem and something will be released to fix this in the future though.

 

Turn all of your settings to the lowest graphical options and use google chrome, if that doesn't work then the fps is slow because of graphical updates by jagex

 

try deleting all your cookies, mayby you have a virus or 2 ?
