    Opinions on braces,

    - normal metal braces
    - plastic braces (??)
    - invisalign braces

So far I've seen 3 types of braces (the major ones at least), listed above, I want your opinions on them, not sure how to describe plastic braces though, but it's simply kinda yellowish or maybe plastic suited to your teeth color but it still involves a metal wire and such

Discuss their safety, reliability and the possible outcomes (the possibility of getting a good straight teeth and so on)

    Why?
I know nothing about the different types but I'll tell you right now that if you need them then get them. No one will really care that you have them and in a year or two you will have sexy ass teeth that the bitches will love

Normal metal braces. Don't waste your time with the other shit, you'll just end up having them longer. I just got my braces off a few months ago after having them for a little under 2 years (the orthodontist said I would have mine for 2 1/2 years, but I took care of them). It really doesn't hurt, you don't notice them after the first month or so, and like Kabal said, you come out with sexy teeth.

Get the normal ones, I had mine taken out recently and I can happily say I have a smile now. They're perfectly safe and won't break provided you look after them and don't eat certain foods (sweetcorn on the cob is a good example of a no eater). They shouldn't really hurt, it might be a bit uncomfortable to eat and speak for a few days but that should go after one week. By 4 weeks, you will forget that they are even there.

Honestly, in 2 years when you have them taken out and you have a proper smile you will be glad you had them put in.

I would definitely prefer the metal ones. To be honest, they're so common that people barely notice now a days.

I have to get braces again, should I really go with metal braces over invisalign? I've had braces/spacers before a couple of years back and I really don't want to deal with it again.

Just get normal metal braces. Those invisilign ones and the plastic braces look fuckin' weird.

Normal, metal braces. I got mine off 4 years ago and my teeth have been perfectly straight ever since. Make sure you wear your retainers, though, otherwise they won't stay straight.

Just get normal braces I had mine for a year and a half. I ate whatever I wanted and just brushed my teeth two times a day and I was all good. Don't let the orthodontist tell you what to eat you'll be fine.

I've got braces at the moment. I've got the metal ones. They hurt when you first get them, and when you get them tightened, but other than that, they're fine. As for eating, I still eat some sweets, but obviously don't eat something like toffee :p But ye, metal braces are around everywhere so they must work. I've had mine for quite a long time now, and my teeth look loads better. I wanted to get them taken out when I first got them, but I don't even know I've got them now. Good luck :)

I had braces from the beginning of 7th, to the end of 8th grade. I hated having them every single day, with a passion. They were ugly, annoying, and occasionally painful. HOWEVER, seeing the results makes it totally worth it. Being able to smile comfortably, and not worry about what your teeth look like is one of the greatest feelings.

So even though some of you may hate them now, just make sure you do everything the orthodontist tells you to, and they will be off in no time. It will be totally worth it, and you will be glad you did it.

It could still serve as a place for people with braces, or people who have had braces to discuss their experiences (as it is doing right now).

True, this thread has had enough answers though. It can stay open for now though.

I've had regular braces for about....8 years on and off, and they fucking suck.

I hate when a bracket breaks, or when they put rubberbands or coils to stretch your teeth. UGH.
