Java crashes while playing rs

Randomly while playing rs the screen just goes black and java shuts down. I've googled this and tried most of the suggested methods. I've updated Java, cleared my cache and cookies. I play rs in the lowest settings and my computer isn't all that shitty.

I'm playing rs in firefox and just can't seem to solve this problem. Has anyone else encountered this and know a fix?

 

That is what happens to me! whenever i play on chrome my game crashes. I also need help

 

This used to happen to me on my old computer, I'd hover over the Java icon on the desktop sometimes and it would white screen and crash me :/. No idea :S

 

Try using a different browser or the RS Client, any change?

 

Try the rs client, should work fine as i dont think it requires java {to install}

 

RuneScape is written in and runs off Java...

 

yh, just realized it says, doesnt need java to INSTALL :/ i failed

 

I don't think there is any major fixes for this at the moment, to be honest. ALOT of players have been experiencing this "black screen", as well as a white screen or a complete shut-down of their browser. I've also been having some weird issues that may or may not be related, such as my keyboard randomly not working within the RS client (even though it still works anywhere else on my computer).

The RSOF are a good place to go for up to date information on major widespread problems like this, if there is a way to fix it. The info is usually posted there by a J-mod so it can be passed around via word of mouth and people can get the issue resolved.

Maybe in the mean time try using a different browser, or a different client to play RS?

 

I've got this a couple of times when I've played RS. I'm pretty sure it's common with everyone in any browser as I've had it on chrome a few times.

 

This has been happening to me for a while... On chrome or firefox. Works better on swiftkit though! try that maybe?

 

Eh just tried the rs client and the whole thing crashed within 3 seconds of play time lol

 

haha, maybe not the RS client then. It appears to be something with Java, try uninstalling it then downloading and installing the latest version and see what happens.

 

Have you tried to use 'Ccleaner' to clean your PC? might help.

 

^ If uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't work, you could alway's try using a different browser (like internet explorer or google chrome)

Then change settings to lowest possible but put it in either open GLU or directX
