Whats the best screen capture software for FREE?

I want to know what you think is the best screen capture software.

I'm tired of using Hypercam and having stickers on them. Any recommendations?

 

Depends what you mean by 'free'. Anyway, I've always found FRAPS to be reliable.

 

Yeah I've used Fraps, It is great.

 

I use something called Debut Video Capture, I find it's the easiest to use with no annoying labels over the clip. high quality too.

Get msi afterburner (graphics overclocking program) which has its own recorder with lots of options and excellent quality/speed. I actually prefer it over fraps now.

 

but for free fraps does like 10 second clips?

 

It's not free, but I've been using a program called Dxtory lately and it's 100x better than FRAPS/Hypercam. You can get it free from various sources online, however I can't link you. It's nice though because it lets you play in one resolution while recording in another so you don't get lag (I play in 1080p, but record in 720p) and it also lets you play at unlimited FPS while only recording at 30 FPS (which is all you need for YouTube). Plus, it doesn't split the files up like FRAPS does. I dunno about you guys but it is highly annoying to have to piece together the clips in Vegas to me. Best recording software EVARRRR.
