Has anyone else ever thought about the paradox of Sythe and other cheating communities?

Sythe is a community full of cheaters/botters/sellers etc which are breaking the ToS for the respective games we play. But we still use 'middlemen' for trades.

I imagine that people who scam on a community devoted to selling 'black market' virtual goods are like the worse of the worse, the scumbags of the cheating community. Yet there are the middlemen that are meant to be 100% 'pure' if you will, and not scam or do anything of that nature to make sure that your black market trade goes correctly...

I hope that you could understand that as it was hard to try and describe the way I was feeling/thinking and put that into words...

Try to imagine Sythe is a criminal organisation.
Now think what are the differences between criminal organisation and a country.
Is there anything special at all? They both have their own leaders etc.

I was using sythe as the prime example, but it applies to any black market/underground trade community

I honestly don't see what you're getting at.
It's a market. Every market and economy has its own system of safety.

The fact that we're breaking some rules set by some game doesn't really matter.

Just because they break a GAME'S ToS doesn't constitute them as scammers, or make them "not pure."

Yet scamming on this site isn't scamming either. You're just breaking sythe terms of service.

Remember, runescape accounts/items are jagex' property - not yours.

What? I meant breaking the game's ToS by botting, buying gold, etc. If you scam there, it's still scamming regardless, and you'll get banned.

I don't get your point of view...
Sythe is a black market, where people trade goods from different games.

Those games have their own ToS, yet, people that sell their good do break these ToS but they are not scammers because they break those.
If they would steal the goods they are selling, then yes, it's scamming.

Just take a real life situation, someone that drives too fast on the highway isn't a thief, he simply committed an infraction to the law.

Just because we break rules and are "the lowest of the low" doesn't mean we can't be civil. Breaking rules or not what we work for even if we use bots is out time we spent doing so and not looking out for that investment is just retarded

The rules on a game dont mean much. If your breaking Runescape ToS it doesn't make you less trustworthy.

no. Yes we MiddleMen deal in the black market and 'break' the game rules I agree. But we do not scam. We turn a legimate profit in the ways of gold sellers atleast. MiddleMen are not pure, your right. However that has nothing to do with if they are trustworthy. In the black markets yes, you will meet many scammers but MiddleMen tend to have enough vouches/rep to prove that they are not one of them.
No one can judge a MiddleMan by saying he is not pure and therefore not trustworthy as that person would be judging them below them, and the simple fact they are on Sythe would mean they have an interest in the black market for whatever reason.

Using Musical Impressions example, Imagine Sythe as a Criminal Organisation. There are ranks within that organisation. In say a 'gang' the higher up the more scared you would be of them as they are more powerful. In a site like this, the higher up they are the more trusted they are to an extent. You would not trust one the 'gang' members who goes door to door with your money, but you would with a leader.

I don't consider people that sell virtual goods on sythe to be scum or scammers. A lot of people sell/buy rsgp for staking purposes, and even thou it does violate runescapes rules all it really is is normal people trying to make a bit of extra cash on the side while doing something they love.

That's why it's best to be careful. You should expect the worst until you're proven wrong :p
