Question about "stolen" names and selling them

Alright not sure if this is the right section but I really need to understand what to do.

So recently just a few minutes ago I stumbled upon a rare name selling thread. I am out of the rare name business, however I always browse from time to time. I was shocked to find out someone selling the name "Bong" which was a name stolen/recovered from me twice by the member Brian/Runescape TM.

I've pmed him and he said that he bought he around 6 months ago which would be around the time when I realized he recovered the account again after his pardon got denied. He even said it has the same email login as before which proves that Brian sold it to him.

So I was wondering how would this work? Would he be aloud to sell the name "bong" even though I am suppose to be the rightful owner as I never sold it off? Am I aloud to have it back? Just really confused seeing my name being "sold" even though it's not suppose to. I'm not blaming him as that he didn't know it was stolen.

Hmm, tricky situation. I would request an IP check first on the person who scammed you before and who you are talking to now, just to check that they are not the same person who is going to scam again.

I'll wait on an answer from a mod. I know that reselling an account that was sold = perm banned but if he did buy it from Brian then it really causes some confusion lol.

 

I think that the account should be yours. I am not sure if the person currently selling it would just "give" it away though.

I think if he doesn't want to give it to you, he shouldn't be allowed to sell it.
