Opinions on botting?

I currently have a mixed feeling on botting. I think it is pretty cool but to a certain extent. Post your opinions, I'm very interested :idea:

 

I like botting. But goldfarming/mass botting isn't my cup of tea...

 

Yes, I agree with you, mass botting can just get out of hand sometimes

Without, i would quit RS years ago...

 

Yes but certain things you don't want to bot lol, like pking, rev hunting, etc.

 

Similar to what weeps said its good to an extent for the tedious and mind numbing skills ( dungeoneering and agility being two of the best examples) and even small gold farming as in having one bot run overnight to help support your main but I would like all bots to require some intelligence to run like simba however since the return of reflection/injection bots and them becoming public I suspect the game will go back to what it was before the bot nuke

 

@wzaza I suspect that too, but considering how long it took bots such as epicbot to return, it seems Jagex could do a few simple things to pretty much make it extremely difficult for major companys

 

SRL/RiDs standards of botting are best.
We bot moderately, blend in, and keep the game in balacne.
All/Most of the java bot sits/botters care about MONEY.

1) They website SELL scripts, they sell as many as they can get get more money, they don't care for the game. Everything becomes overcrowded, overused and ruins the game.

2) The botters run WAY TOO many accounts at once, further ruining the game.

Excess supply of raw materials ruins the Runesape economy.
Excess supply of gold ruins the RWT economy making gold prices fall to nothing.

Best thing to do is for everyone to bot moderately, and keep the good money making scripts in the hands of the mature and worthy like SRL does.


I really hope none of these new injection/reflection bots either 1: Sell or Release any good money making scripts to the general public and ruin the game. Hopefully optimius wipes them out, and Jagex sues the rest.

 

But you support all of these SRL people selling money making scripts?

 

I support RiD, why? Because its not for goldfarming use, its not used to make bills, its simpily to level your skills. I don't bot anymore, I pretty much gave up, but I would recommend RiD, it does its job well.

 

Most/All are selling limited copies so the method stays profitable, as compared to most of the past java script selling sites just sold sold sold with no limit just to make more money for themselves and ruining the methods.

And I was saying I like the mindset AT SRL not of individual SRL members selling scripts elsewhere.

Lite and controlled selling is fine with me, I might even do so myself. But selling purely for profit and making the method ruined is pointless.

 

I dunno, if you look at the scripts being sold in the software section a lot of people are saying that it has about crashed the market. I mean you sell one script and run 12 instances of it 12 hours a day... That is crazy. An auth system really needs to be put in place.

12 Instances is not enough to crash the entire market, but yeah I see your point.

 

yohojo's views on botting are correct, keeping the game balanced. And most people i see selling money making scripts raise the price 10m every few people and dont sell too many copies which is good of them

 

I'm a fan of botting because it pays for basically everything I need. Back when I played RS, people botting skills actually bothered me more than goldfarmers because they gained a competitive advantage in the game, whereas the goldfarmers just made resources and skills more easy to come by.

I was really happy botting loads of accounts to generate gp to sell, but that being said I hate what botting does to Runescape and I'm more than happy playing Runescape legit.
I would of never botted on my runescape main if jagex didn't let the botting get as out of hand as it was. (though I only ended up botting around 30 agility 30 hunter and 15 rc levels)

 

honestly i cant see myself botting anymore since the bot nuke.

 

Sadly iv gone back to botting now that reflection/injection is back. i saw no point in botting with rid/simba. its much easier to bot with epic or rarebot. Ever since i started botting i just cant stop.

 

I hate it.

It really ruins the game, the community and what not.

 

I bot strictly to get repatative tasks out of the way. I mean is cooking, firemaking, or crafting really that bad? im losing money on fm and cook atm, and craft i havent even tried yet. So its not like im "producing" acessive amounts of items or "making gp off the game". It actully fuel prices up because were (botting community) are using them.
