Bursting For Mage Exp

So I've been botting my mage about 12-15 hours/day and it's gotten me 95 mage so far. However, I've been thinking about Jagex cracking down on bots and I'm a tid afraid to keep doing it.
So I think I'm going to start bursting, and I have a few questions.
Note: I'm 95 mage, 95 HP, 92 Def, and 71 Prayer.

1) What should I burst and why?
I've heard rock lobsters and I've heard mm tunnel.
I heard lobs don't respawn in the same spot and mm tunnel gives you a lot more exp.

2) What should my setup be? (I'm only 53 dung and don't really want to train it for a arcane)

3) What is the exp/hr?
I've heard from as low as 200k/ to as outrageous as 600k/.

4) About how much will it cost for 3m exp?

Not sure why you think jagex is cracking down on bots. I haven't heard of any recent bot bans lately.

If you're all about exp, mm tunnel is much better.

Lobs would be kinda slow. Better of for mm tunnels to get 99 and get charms using cannon or just using range!

 

About 200k XP/h with Ice Barrage, and about 200-300 crimsons per hour.

 

Rock lobsters for charms.

MM dungeon for experience.

Quite costly, I would just high alch or just continue botting. If you bot safely, you should be fine.

 

If your going to do lobs for charms but are worried about money, one idea would be offering something like a 'charm' service. I don't know if this would be work but it's sure an idea. Get a pure/summon tank whoever wants charms to pay like half your casts and you burst lobs on loot share so you both get charms, you get all the mage xp and casts are partly being paid for by someone else. Just an idea.

 

Dont be a pussy. Ive botted 99 mage on multiple toons and no ban.

 

I don't bot anymore, not worth it.

 

if you're really impatient go for mm tunnel BUT if you want to train summoning in the future too you should go for rock lobs its prob the best place to farm charms, you get about 150-200 crims per hour and a decent 150k-250k mage xp an hour

I'm going to be barraging lobs using sol and battle robes. This will save me about 50% of my runes, and I will definitely be glad I did it when I start summoning.

 

Good choice, if your looking to do this at 0 cost, people pay for barraging and charm gathering like this and would fund your runes if you needed to.

 

As a few people have mentioned, you could always lootshare charms with a pure/skiller if you wanted to get even cheaper runes.

I think the average price you can charge while Bursting/Barraging for someone is like 15K per Crimson Charm that they get.

But, if you aren't as worried about the money, Bursting/Barraging Rock Lobs yourself is fast XP and fast charms. I would definitely recommend it while going for 99 Mage, because chances are somewhere down the line you will do it to raise your Summoning anyway.

If you don't want to Dung for the Arcane Stream, just wear a Fury/other. Tome of Frost is unlimited Water Runes in your shield slot, but that is also from Dung. You could replace that with either Mages Book, Arcane or a God Book (or something else I guess?).

Cape-wise you should wear a God Cape of your choice, and for your ring I would wear a Ring of Life until you get used to being at Rock Lobs. Gloves I would wear Barrows Gloves if you can, and boots I would use Ragefire/Infinity.

Good luck, Lobs are pretty boring but it's a fast way to get the XP (and charms!) you are looking for

Oh, and make sure to either watch some vids or watch someone, so you know how to lure the dagg's, etc.

 

I'd recommend lobsters. It may be slower but it sets you up to train summoning, which is really useful.

 

Using Ice Barrage you couldprobs get 200-300 tokens, maybe 200k exp/h
