Circumcisions, Your thoughts?

So as I read about more babies dying and having horrible damage done. I would like to hear you're thoughts on this gruesome cosmetic surgery.

 

You are exaggerating when you say gruesome cosmetic surgery. I am circumcised and theres nothing wrong with such a thing.

 

Purposely mutilating your body for no reason isn't wrong?

 

For some there are very important reasons for circumcision, may it be religion, medical reasons or whatever but to call it 'mutilating your body' is kinda heavy put. Isn't it proven to be cleaner and lesser chance to get infected?

 

I think this is some sensationalist claims. This isn't a cosmetic surgery it is used to cure some diseases and infections. There are also studies that show it decreases the chance of catching the HIV virus and many other STDs.

 

If you are a competent parent, you can clean the foreskin and teach your son to do it as well. Plus the religious reason in mainstream religion was started by one of the Kellogg brothers (cereal) he also started the circumcision of girls by dripping acid on the clit. He was later found to be a sick human being as he got off on the mutilation of children. Oh and the masterbating thing is fucking stupid. When you get circumcised you lose 95% of the feeling in your penis. You think sex is good try it with an uncut penis. There are also studies that show big foot is real. Don't make it true. And at this point in time it is purely cosmetic.

 

I can show you proof of my studies, can you show proof of yours? You make a lot of claims but fail to back it up with evidence.

I honestly have no opinion, but I am bored. So I will play the devil's advocate on this one.

 

Uncircumsized penis looks gross and weird. I'd hate getting naked if I was uncircumsized. Even if I was/am in the minority by being cut, I'd still be laughing at guys in a locker room if they were uncut.

Other than that, a lot of parents that don't circumsize their kids don't even teach them how to properly clean their foreskin.

Oh, and to the guy that said sex is good with an uncut penis, for some/a lot of uncut guys it can be overly sensitive at times (like a woman's clit), and even when it isn't it's sensitivity can give you some nice two-thrust-bust (have fun with premature ejaculation, uncut guys!).

 

I am circumcised and wish I was not, or at the very least I wish I was given a choice. I have no religious obligations and I practice good hygiene as well as safe sex. There is absolutely no reason I should have had my penis mutilated at birth. I know I'm not making that decision for my son if I ever have one... he can decide when he is old enough.

 

So why do you wish not? Is it because you don't want to follow 'mainstream religion'? The surgery when you get old enough is painful and a noncircumsized penis can cause many serious health risks later in life. I just don't see how the cons out weight the pros. It seems like most people here at sythe only argue against it because it is/was a religious practice.

Although Emperor Nero is right. Most people on Sythe will argue against anything remotely religous.

 

Religious reasons aside, I don't see a problem with it. It looks better (in my humble opinion) and it's healthier for the man, as you have less chance of getting an infection or whatever else it may be.

I also agree with Ivy. I want the chance at least to know if I am missing out on anything. I've read an article where a middle-aged man got circumcised and he said it felt better. I will also do the exact same thing with my son.

One of the cons is you can't masturbate several times in a row when you're circumcised. It just starts to hurt after the 2nd or third.

 

It's mutilating your son in the time where he is most sensitive...

So legitimate medical studies are also just religious justification? I mean you guys are arguing things and not proving it. I would like some proof on these claims some of you are making.

There is no hard evidence that I can find, ( I haven't looked very hard ) that circumsision is medically better than the alternative.

 

How is getting circumcised mutilating your penis? It's just removing the foreskin, which in my opinion makes it more attractive and less risk of infections.

~And to the people arguing "Why would god give you foreskin to just have it cut off".

Answer me this, why did God give you the thought process and ability to make your own decisions/even let a human be capable of thinking or carrying out a circumcision?

 

Just because it has medical merit doesn't mean people are doing it because of the medical benefit. They are doing it because it's a cultural and religious norm.

If you don't know what an ex post facto justification is (which you clearly don't because you think I'm questioning the medical validity of circumcision) then don't try to argue against my point.

 

Why are you stigmatizing it just because it is a religious practice? It has more medical benefit then it does have negative consequences unless someone can prove me wrong.

Trust me, I know what ex post facto is. Now you know you can't prove your point so you are trying to attack me personally, fallacy number one.
