Saving 200m~ on prayer?

I figured with Simba out (Finally tried it with YA2 a yak killer) and it was doing quite good. I've always been theory crafting on how to get to 95 prayer the cheapest method there is. I figured I'd share this (Unless its already known then I feel bad) since I don't think it would affect the market.

Hypothetically speaking Bonecrusher pretty much gives you free prayer experience when a monster drops any type of bone. You get 15 prayer xp per big bone buried. Hill Giants drop these big bones with only 350 HP, most of which higher level 80+ can one or two hit.

Bonecrusher requires about 62 dungeoneering for the tokens to actually get it.
You need 20 dungeoneering for the edgeville resource dungeon, where there is 10 giants, almost never crowded. Each of the giants give 143xp to a combat skill, while each giant with bone crusher also gives 15+ prayer. If a pure were to train say, Strength (Where I'm at right now on my pure level 92)
To get to 99 Strength it requires
6,760,359xp. Let say all that xp was obtained at hill giants with a bonecrusher. That means I got 15xp prayer for every 143xp prayer I got for strength.
(6,760,359\143) x 15 = Effectively giving you 709k Prayer experience.

If you were to get the 709,129xp prayer via frostbones/dragon bones on a guilded altar with two burners.

(709,129 / 252) x 3,500 = 10m Saved
(709.129 / 630) x 17,000 = 19m Saved

**Note these prices are the absolute lowest they'll ever go.

Making a bot that kills hillgiants repeatedly, regen brace and eat an occasional piece of food (Giants drop), or maybe with just regenning. And with a few 80-99 in any combat and you'll have free prayer xp effectively saving you money while training a pure at the same time. I figured the only negative is the training for dungeoneering.

 

Good idea. If it works, then go for it. Hopefully there's a Hill Giant-killing script, tho.

 

I might use this on my Barrows pure, I need 70 pray. On my main tho, I already have 99 str and I need 70-99 prayer so ill buy my bones for that acc or kill Drag bots which is fun.

 

That'll take ages though.

 

Well i'm pretty confident at dungeoneering, i should be able to get an account to 62 preety fast. Might try botting 99 flats on a noob account to see how far my prayer lvl gets

 

That's very interesting.

On the one hand, that is a shitload of Hill Giants to bot. Seems risky.

On the other hand, people have done/do a lot worse and get away with it, and with the crap location like that it's not like many people are going to bother you.

 

Better of doing ectofocus. Hill giants have pretty high def lvl.

 

The xp/hour, assuming you 3 hit every giant and take 2 hits to get to a new one using a speed 6 weapon (4 * 5 = 20 ticks = 12 seconds per giant) gives 4.5k xp/hour. Let's say I estimated low- call it 5k xp/hour. You're getting literally 1/46th of the xp/hour for dragon bones, no loot, decent but not great combat xp, and a high chance of ban to do it for a long enough time to be meaningful.

Timewise, you're better off using the altar-bot I'm going to release and using big bones at 5x the time but 2/3rds the cost than bonecrusher grinding.

 

You're better off doing money making methods that makes 1mil+ an hour (There are many, I have found one stable enough to do whenever I need cash for a skill, without really needing to watch the market too closely), and then spending the gp using a Gilded altar bot from Simba. ~200-300 hours of botting instead of ~2600 hours of botting for 99 prayer. Much less time consuming, and less likely to be banned since you're botting less time.

the thing is giants are low HP easily killed, so while you get combat xp its also giving prayer. the point is not the speed. its the money saved.

 

Yeah but who even wants to bot for 2600 hours let alone play it for that just to get pray up. Ill stick to killing drag bots for pray. Its faster and it costs a d scim and dhide if u die. I dont die unless im pking, even if i am training in the wild.
