Koi Fish! By Kovan

Haven't made anything recently ,, been working on this
I drew the fish myself on paper
later i scanned it in and traced it in illustrator and did all of the postwork in photoshop

I like this a lot - I did a whole art project on koi fish and oriental illustrations of fish when I was younger (in GCSE Art), and I like the illustration.

Personally, I think it's pretty simple, two/three tone colouration or vexelling would look pretty cool with it.

Splatter FX can also be more coordinated with the illustration, though overall that's quite nice.

I like the illustration of the fish, but I don't think the splatter isn't very well done. It doesn't really go with it, and the colors are also sort of lackluster.

 

Honestly I love this piece. Colours could possibly have the red changed to a slightly more muted pink/red and then it's all good. Love the black, yellow and white which work well with the theme. I think you could work on shading the fish a little better, add some detail to it and the background. Either way the flow is nice and the concept is well done. Awesome work man.

 

Thanks guys,, I'm not to proud of the splatter fx myself actually,, i wanted to achieve other fx but it didn't work ( i didn't try to be honest xD )

I'm definitely doing another version of this piece,, to make it a bit better,, but I'm also doing another piece with this style,, i like this kind of style allot

 

Dude, this is pretty awesome. Like Nero said, I think the splatter could use a little work. Other than that, extremely well done.
