what type of laptop to buy

Basically i made well over 1b staking in runescape from just 100m, i have about $550 that my mom doesnt know about (yes i realize how stupid that sounds). i need to buy a decent laptop for around that much, id like to not spend it all but i need a good lap top that have good graphics card and that can run runescape without any problems at all. my current laptop is a year old hp computer which sucks for playing runescape on. im heading off to college next year so a decent laptop for gaming and studies would be greatly helpful. any suggestions please post here! thanks! and i would really like to keep it in budget if possible.

Maybe you could have a look at some of the Dell ones? they are quite good . I also have windows 7 which is great .

Just look around the market at some special offers . It looks like you ahve a year or so to decide.

 

yeah i have time to descide, dells probably out of the picture seeing as there so damn expensive and once your warrentys done your screwed with it.

I would save a little more and by a good laptop that will last a couple years. Technology gets old fast. Not sure if you know but if you want or need any microsoft programs you have to buy them. When my mom bought her computer we found out after we got it home. we went online and bought with the student discount.

 

ive already got all the microsoft 2010 programs, programs are easy to get for me. i just need a good computer that will run runescape fast as well as be good for school work

HP or acer. They're both the most reliable imo.

 

If you want pretty good laptop for just $600 with i5 processor, gt 540m 2gb which is pretty good for gaming, i have one myself. It can run almost any game.

Nah, he probably doesn't want a shitty £1000 word processor.

I would reccomend Asus, Sony or Lenovo. I've had a lot of laptops from various brands, and these three are my favourites. Asus knows how to put together hardware, Sony have never faltered in terms of reliability with my previous laptop and lenovo have some of the most durable and water resistent laptops on the market.

 

Asus. Also I think Vizio is coming out with some nice ones soon, but they will probably be out of your budget.

 

Acer, Vizio, and HP are good, solid brands to stick with.

Whatever you do, do not waste your money on a Mac or Alienware. They are both good brands, but they charge you 3 times as much for a laptop of the same quality from one of the other brands I mentioned above.

 

I'd go for either Dell or HP, my last 2 laptop's have been HP and the standard warranty is a year. Haven't had any trouble with them and they're pretty much on 24/7 for at least 2-3 years

 

If you would like to spend $1500 in my opinion i would buy an alienware, good machine tho, but with this $1500 if i build my own computer would be more cheap and would be better then alienware, because we know we are paying to much for the mark, white mark is always the best

 

I recently bought a Dell xps 17 and it's amazing. I'd look at dells in your price range. They have a lot of awesome deals lately.

 

go to your local computer store and ask them : / They usually have good deals on laptops with AMD processors for your price range/win7/4gb ram/decent HDD/ati graphics. A 'good' laptop is around $800 and a good gaming laptop $1000+. I have a 3 year old, nearly 4? laptop that runs runescape pretty well.

But really you're best off going to a store

 

I have an ASUS, they are great and works fine with Runescape.
But as @stormstuck said, go to the store and ask.. And see what they have to offer.
