Is this game worth getting?

Is Star Wars: The Old Republic worth getting?​

So straight up, is this game worth the money or is it to much like other games? I've watched many trailers and gameplay videos that make the game look astounding but I've been fooled into buying awful games before. Does it feel like an MMO or does it feel like your playing single player, or could you play it either ways? By that I mean could you play a lot of the game while ignoring others or does the game rely on the multiplayer aspect?

Another small question, what is your favorite part of the game and the most interesting to see? I saw the Voice Acting and it looked very nice as well as the fact that all characters in game have a voice, this being the first MMO to include that, correct?

Here are almost all of my SHORT(ish) questions...​

1. Are there skills to increase that don't involve major combat and fighting influences or is everything based around fighting?
2. Is the interface simple and easy to read such as a game like Runescape or is it a very detailed and descriptive interface more like WoW? I know that some people prefer the interesting interface with lots of abilities and things happening at once, and some people just can't handle it. Growing up always playing Runescape the fast paced action and moving skills/abilities scare me but I feel like I could get into it.
3. Already sort of asked this but how are the skills set up? I know of the class system and are there specific skills per class? I'd assume so.
4. Is there a large player base or is the game still rising? (Pretty much a temporary question)
5. How is money made, in a general sense? Killing things for a long period of time? That included, how is money set up, is it an actual item upon killing a monster or do you simply get a message saying 'Money added'?
6. Does the game run fast on a low end computer? I could assume not, it seems to be a generally high GFX game but I'm sure that can be turned down. I mean I could look into the requirements but with some games you just never know. (This question is not suggesting I have a low end computer, but just playing as if I ended up on one at some point in time)
7. What is the PvP like? Is it skill based or is does it generally rely on ACTUAL skill levels? By this I mean could a level 2 kill a level 15 or would the PvP generally be in between similar levels? Basically, is it MMO style PvP or Xbox style PvP? (CoD vs. WoW, or maybe Battlefield vs. Runescape, I hope you understand that question)
8. How many actual levels are there or are there even strict levels?
9. Are high levels easily spottable? For instance are there lots of traits that distinct a low level from a higher level? I've played games where nearly everybody looks the same despite a few factors and it made the game unrewarding and near pointless. Along with this question I have to ask is the game rewarding, as in do you feel accomplished after finishing a mission or gaining a 'level' of that sort, getting new items or abilities? Or does it just feel 'so-so' and you've gotten a little closer to a long term goal?
10. Is there a class in the game that just dominates and is clearly a greater class? If anything kills a game it is when there are PLENTY of things to choose from and one of them is just better than the rest so nearly everybody goes with that.

I need you to CONVINCE me to buy this game, I need a reason I'll be adding more questions most likely.

1. Each character may have 3 "crew skills". Trainable outside of combat, these skills involve resource gathering as well as crafting skills. Of the many varieties to choose from, however, you may only have 3 at any point. This encourages user to create many characters in their own SWTOR "Legacy"
2. The interface is "complex" as World of Warcraft is because it gives you a larger dynamic in fights as World of Warcraft did. Simply - it requires more skill and understanding of your character's specialization to win in PvP.
3. No "Unique" skills truly exist for a class, aside from the obvious differences between Jedi Knight, Consular and a Smuggler. Each specification may have 1-4 attack moves that other classes would normally ignore because they have been specialized in them - not necessarily because the skill isn't available.
4. Having sold over 1.6 million physical copies in it's release week, expect the latest NPD data to show more users purchasing the game than ever. I think it's entirely possible that 3 million people could play this game before the end of the week.
5. Make money by killing things, skills, flashpoints or PvP. You won't lose gear in PvP, but you earn XP, valor, special tokens and credits [money.]
6. No. You will need a GT 520 video card [or better]
7. Already covered. Everyone is scaled up to level 50, but you'll only have the skills you could train at your level. This evens the fight, but it's still hard at low levels.
8. 50. 400 for crew skills.
9. Much better gears, as well as "Legacy names" and some obvious changes.
10. Classes are VERY even, though if you don't understand your class you will feel outmatched in PvP.

 

Ok thank you. I asked mostly because I don't have a good computer for playing games (our family has an iMac) but I've been thinking about customizing a computer. It would cost a lot but I think it might be worth it if I can throw together the cash. I technically could play this, with my graphics card (Looked up stats) on my other computer, but its a piece of shit so I think I'd just be better off making a new one.

I've currently been playing this game since release, the game is very different compared with other MMO's which is good. However like other MMOs i find that the leveling is better but is still very boring and tedius. also like other MMOs their is hardly any end game things to do, most people just farm war games. i've quit now i got to lvl 43 merc bounty hunter, just so bored of it.

 

I was pretty interested in this but 5.9 on metacritic is making me have second thoughts :/

If you've never played WoW or SWotOR then WoW is better. If you're bored of WoW then SWotOR is the game for you.

 

I played many an hours of wow and loved it, would I love this game? It sounds dope but at $50 its a pretty heft cost.

Looks interesting, for me I put Star Wars over WoW, however I've heard this game is basically WoW with lightsabers. Is this game basically that? Or is there something that separates it from WoW?

 

One of the best aspects of SWTOR is that each quest has a voice behind it, a story. Endlessly grinding in WoW gets boring, and while at the bottom of it the quests in SWTOR can also be grindfests, the story to each quest makes you want to complete the quest.

There are some other differences, but I'm to tired to write all of the differences, haha.

It's a game that is unique in it's own way. I say it'll slowly beat WoW in the longrun. I still prefer this game over WoW.

 

would you say this game is more grinding than rs because i have completely gotten over rs and want to play this game have never played wow but i like star wars so i am quite interested

also do i have to pay like $35 to keep playing every 60 days
