Is staking pure luck?

Pure luck, but you have to have balls. The people that are willing to bet large will probably always gain money.

Its possible to get a win chance of around 53% in boxing and 55% in mage boxing, by punching and blocking, using the correct spells, etc. Those two above articles will explain that its actually possible to make money staking without relying on luck at all.

 

It is luck the hits are totally random. The skill parts come in when you change styles and other skill related "skills"? lol

 

It was mage boxing , and yeah I had 13b could've easy cashed it out but I was stupid , wanted to go for a 20B , stupid me >.<

 

Regular boxing I lost 50m 8/10 fights to someone with 15 def lvls lower than me lol. So ofc I'm a little biased and feel it's luck based.

This was with decent PiD and style switching rofl.

 

Staking is skill, it all depends on how you train your account.

 

It isn't skill I have a maxed mage boxer , 99def 99mage 99hp , and I end up losing to someone with 89def 99mage 95hp?

The reason is I SPLASH 24/7 like wtf....
They constantly hit me 200s and they hit me 24/7

Exactly. But there are some skills in it too, like when you feel you're going to lose (mostly after few wins...) and how to switch between the styles.

 

Runescape combat is EXTREMELY luck based. If you stake small amounts with a big number of stakes(I am talking 100+ or even more in a row) and you have 55% chance of winning, then sure, you can make profit in the long run. But if you do small amount of stakes, the percentage really isnt as accurate, its just pure luck.

While I agree that loosing 2 stakes in a row would be 1/4 if looking at the odds before the first fight, however, you have already lost the first fight and when looking forward, the stake still has 1/2 chance of loosing(half gained by already loosing the first fight).
