    Creating a new computer

A few months ago my computer was keylogged and after reformatting it just doesn't feel the same. I have random crashes all the time for no reason and it's really annoying. I don't know how to fix it, so I'll probably just try to make a new one from scratch.

My questions to you guys are, do you know an alternative solution?

And if I do have to make a new computer, I'd love some help because I've never done it before. Budget will probably be $1000 +- a few hundred.
One of my friends recommended this

    Thanks for the advice!

This is the thread that should be in the tech forum (not the other one actually in there you asked to be deleted) haha :)

But as far as your decision, honestly, go for a new build entirely. Don't get the i7 2600k. It's a 100$ premium for something you most likely won't benefit from if you're just gaming, and is more for video and 3d rendering where the hyperthreading from an i7 comes into play.

Instead, go for an i5 2500k, a GTX 560 Ti, a reasonable 1155 motherboard, 8gb ram (cheap as anything these days) and a few other decent parts.

It's a little overwhelming to know all the right parts, so I'd suggest a bundle such as this one:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.755238

And then buy a GTX 560 ti or amd 6870 and you're set for 1080p single monitor gaming. Should be able to play high or max for most games without troubles.

    I recommend the i5 2500k also.
I bought one for my rig, and it's had no problems since July last year.

AMD Phenom is nice, and inexpensive.

You may want to have someone with extensive knowledge check your computer out fully.
If you'd like, I'd be happy to walk you through some easy things to do/help you out with that.

Also, that CPU is a great one - I built a computer recently with that CPU, an NVidia GTX 590 (christ was that expensive...) and 32 gigs of ram.

We later switched the processor to a higher end model, but that processor was really great for the money.

Was a beast and some fun too :)

Bleh phenom is okay for gaming but AMD CPU's in general tend to fall behind intel for max gains in gaming. Especially CPU intensive ones like skyrim or certain MMO's.

Omg, is sad to see people talking about tech with no evidence =.=
If you budge is between $1000-1200 then I recommended the i5 2500k for you CPU, it runs nearly the same with i7 2600k but cost 100 dollar less. Use the extra money you saved to buy a $30 aftermarket heatsink and overclock the i5 2500k.
If you are using SSD then I urge you to buy a P67 motherboard. Only buy a ssd if your budget is about $1500 since SSD cost alot.
For the computer case I strongly recommend the Corsair Obsidian 600d. You should get any corsair brand power supply as well since they are all premium quality.
I also recommend a Radeon hd 6950 for your graphics card.

AMD cpu are often budget CPUs in 800 dollar builds.

I recommend getting a better graphics card though :/ You could always overclock your CPU in the future, but the graphic card is always a pain in the ass to overclock.

This is what I came up with. I didn't pick a case though.

I'd get a bigger HD once the prices go down a bit more, but a caviar black is one of the most reliable drives on the market. You can throw an extra 8GB of ram to leave you with 16GB, but that's really up to you since 16GB isn't really necessary. You could also toss another 6590 in crossfire and it would kick the shit out of any single card on the market. With such a high budget, I don't see a reason to downgrade to a 2500k, unless the extra $100 is important. Especially if you plan on doing more than gaming.
