My computer freezes on startup

Well whenever i try turn on my computer it freezes on start up it gives me a couple options for starting it up like safe mode or just regularly but as soon as I press enter it freezes. I also lost my anti virus a couple days ago if that help..

 

It freezes even if you try safe mode? You are letting safe mode load up to Windows yes?

It may come to you needing to reinstall your OS.

 

Did your anti virus expire? Because if you pull your internet supply out of the PC itself, EG: ethernet/wireless dongle.. You then can reset your BIOS time, back to a date when you still had time left on it..

I've did that before when my windows xp activation period expired, it may be the same principle.

 

Your OS might be corrupt. It might be worth reinstalling.
If you have Windows 7, it moves all your old files to a folder called 'Windows.old' so you don't have to worry about losing anything.

 

Well I am unable to even click safe mode because as soon as i select it the computer freezez. And how would i be able to reinstall my OS?

 

Sounds like you'll have to reinstall your OS then, you can get a Windows set up disk and boot up off that, normally you can select the boot device on the BIOS load screen. For me it's F12 but for others it can be F2 or F8.

Depending on where you get your PC from you may have a Windows set up disk from when you first got it.
