Violating a TOS isn't breaking the law. It is illegal because the bot client has a copy of RS code in it and it compares the code somehow and having the code in the bot is illegal because RS isn't open source.

It's outdated for me as well just wait for them to update the client.

The client will be updated in under 24 hours. Also waiting for verification as to whether or not its safe.

 

It's timer's code from RSbot 2.. They are about to release rsbot 4... Rsbot 2 is from 2009.. Anyone could get that code..

 

Well, I've reread everything and I kinda feel dumb jumping to conclusions. I'll have my eyes open on the bot; however, I'm not going to be running it anytime soon, not with it being an .exe that is..

 

I think i'll stick with SRL/SIMBA until I get a bit more feedback, could be hidden somewhere and waiting for a mass hacking. I give it a month before we can really know, also let's see what jagex does...

 

Its no problem at all, lots of people tend to get scared when they see that dreaded .exe file. Honestly though most programsthat come with their own installers are .exe files(Rarebot has its own installer). What we really need to wait on is someone's evaluation after running it on a VM in sandbox mode. We have seen earlier though that during the entire installation no packets were sent - a good sign to me. I plan on using this on my pure that has no bank for a little while once the file itself is deemed safe to use.

It's not going to take anywhere near a month to determine if it's safe or not. We just need someone to test it out. Wolfdog(think thats his name) said that he would "take apart the .jar file." - we will have to see how that goes.

 

Not sure if it matters or not but I've been playing around with it but I'm on a mac using wine to run it.

 

Decided to take the risk and try it out on my secondary computer. When the client "updates" I'll let you guys know if its working/safe. I plan on using a botted throwaway account for the first few days, then if it proves safe xfer the cash from my main and use it then.

I went ahead and decompiled the individual .class files inside the .jar. Of course they're all obfuscated but I was able to make out some of the basic hooking methods used and it seems legitimate. I then tested it on one of my throw-away accounts and it does work (with some small errors) particularly clicking a location 10 times a second.

I believe this project is legit but would execute caution all the same because it really is brand-new and susceptible to error.

By the way they also give the option to convert powerbot scripts by simply renaming it org.rsbot. to com.rarebot. So obviously they are using almost identical APIs.

 

Anyone enlighten me on what a injection bot is?

 

I don't trust them to be honest, i will stick with villavu... like always !

 

Injection bots have rs codes and compare it, so the bot know what everything is etc.

 

I'm skeptical as well about the whole idea of them being safe and what not as well, but the way I see it is.. If they have half a mind, they'll remain safe. It's loads more profitable to be safe than to hack your members. Especially considering it's the only working injection bot around.
