What's the best 1st person shooter game?

CS is the best
but my fav is COD4

 

Guys vote the one that you like, is the call of duty(all games until) know or battlefield etc..

 

Spec-wise, Battlefield 3.
It's the most realistic FPS that I've ever played in my entire life

best squad-play and the best graphics yet
unlike previous games, you can blow up buildings o_o

 

COD MW2. I don't play cod anymore, but I've had so much fun on that game it will always be one of my favorites.

 

Hm people advice battlefield, i like it, but i prefer call of duty, and i don't know why , except the stupid spawn system in multi player which sometimes is fun, other times is frustrating.

 

CoD is simpler than BF3; kill people, get killstrikes etc
BF3 = get a squad, communicate, use vehicles etc

To the people who prefer games that don't require much usage of the brain and like simpler concepts, I'd recommend CoD.

 

Why not put more options? I vote Crysis 2 because it's unique, has a good and long campaign, excellent graphics, and intense live gameplay.

I've never played Battlefield, but I definitely want to eventually. I've only played Call of Duty 4 and some Black Ops and I find them pretty overrated. As far as the choices go, I'd say Halo even though I haven't played it since the 3rd one. Great story and really fun on live.

 

halo was really good then died imo

CoD is always fun though i don't play very often. I still feel like playing it sometimes where as the other 2 are meh

 

Halo 3 > any of the recent installments in CoD. Battlefield, without friends/squadmates to communicate, is not very fun IMO. It looks great, but it's just not really for me. I've always been the run and gun type, hence why I use SMG rushing classes in MW3.

 

I'm glad to see all the other Halo 3 supporters in this thread. Hopefully the next game in the series will be as good or better. Might even convince me to get an xbox.

 

For me Call Of Duty whether recent or not [COD 4,6 and 8]
Battlefield 3 is good but it isnt my type but still good

 

i prefer xbox over the other fps choices...its just more simple and straightforward and easier to catch on to. anytime i try playing cod or bf3 i just get completely raped before i can do anything. CS still rules the fps world tho, just sayin

 

Yeah, i will try to get a xbox soon, but still don't know, i still think i got a contract with the playstation, if you know what i mean !

 

This probably belongs in the FPS section, but oh well. I would say COD, I know BF is much more realistic and such, but MW2 was the first proper FPS shooter I played and it's still my favourite today. However MW2 is now dead on PC, so I would have to say COD4 is my next favourite thing.

 

I enjoyed halo over CoD and BF simply because CoD and BF to rank up was based on time played rather than skill whereas Halo 1-3 was based on actual player skill whereby you needed teamwork to rank up and reach level 50.

 

Counter Strike as well as Call of duty mainly because Call of duty was structured around CS.

 

CS 1.6, COD2, COD4, BF3(new to BF series. ;P)
but imo my fav FPS's.

 

Halo, because it takes actual skill to play the game. not just a bunch of people running around getting killstreaks and camping. halo 3 you had to actually work as a team to win and rank up here is my lists
Halo3>COD>50 piles of poop> then BF3
